why do people who use shotguns bring the weapoon into the shoulder to shot??
it makes alot more sense to have steady aim on and shoot from the hip because the spread of the pellets is tighter then shooting from the shoulder?

lot of players don't use steady aim, ninja pro or something else is more beneficial overall!

    As in ADS?

Tallon posted a vid before of a guy who said that if you ADS when you have steady aim equipped that the spread is bigger (and less accurate) then if you hip shot. He also showed that if you have steady aim off, it's more accurate to ADS than to hip fire as the spread is much smaller. I think it's down to personal preference.

When I have steady aim the crosshairs are alot smaller, so it's easier to know if I'll get a 1 hit kill or not. If some people in the game have baby monitors on, I'll switch to the Spas/Ninja Pro class I have and ADS as the crosshairs are much bigger, and it's harder to judge if you'll hit or not if people are a bit away.

Hope I made some sense anyways haha.

While I agree, on the flip side, a wider spread of bullets with the SPAs will mean that if you're aim is slightly off, you still have a decent chance of a kill.

My guess is that people feel more comfortable with ADS because they do it so often with their primary. But even then a shotgun w/Grip will do the job just fine without ADS.

I have a grip on my SPAS and use steady aim, I hipfire it though. and the accuracy is scary, get headshots all over the place.

It really depends on what sort of shotgun played you are. Most people that aren't running steady aim will pop up the ADS at medium range to help accuracy if they're specifically going for someone, and they can aim well.

Those with Steady Aim, sit back and unload perfectly accurate SPAS bursts into your head :pac:

    SPAS+ sleight of hand+stopping power+steady aim+ grip= beastly.

Basically my set up like yours, except I sometimes have extended mags on. But I was thinkin that I never really have the need to have so many rounds if I always hit with the mag and what's the chances I'll run into 6+ people and survive and need to reload.

It feels more accurate with ADS. ADS or not ADS it depends on the situation.

Grip does nothing for the Spas btw but if it works for you don't change.

im on about when they have steady aim on they bring it up. i saw that video and enjoyed it. but i dont get why bring it up into the shoulder when you have steady aim on.
it takes that lil bit longer to bring the gun up into you shoulder and then fire compared to shooting from the hip i believe this is more benefical when you can shoto faster

my shotgun setup is striker/spas with grip or fmj works every time

i use this exact same set up as this and iv perfect the jump shot.so when you jump and ur still aiming straight where previously you would have hit them in the chest you will now hit in the head giving you a crazy amount of head shots.also your first jump after your weapon change or flash/grenade will be higher then your usual jump.

i love jumpshotting at the right time, I dont do it all the time but when a kill calls for a little panache I do :D like when someone is at the bottom of a stairs or up on a walkway.

Its Aiming Down Sights. Not to be confused with Aiming Initially Downs Sights or A.I.D.S for short. You dont wanna come accross someone who does that, its deadly. :D

As far as I knew ADS with something like a spas bring the spread down so if you hit someone your more likely to get all the buck shot into them meaning higher damage as opposed if you only glance them with a blast from the hip. (Insert inuendo jokes on all of that here)

What's that Aiming Initally Down Sights you spoke of? I don't think I've heard of it before.

What are you basing this on? I'd be pretty sure that it tightens the spray over a bare SPAs.

Doesn't it reduce the size of the crosshairs or is that just Steady Aim?

Commando Pro all the way on my Spas class, there is nothing more fullfilling than jumping off the 3 story in crash and popping someone off on the way down or any building for that matter!

    Marathon ftw!

I remember coming up the stairs on that building on Crash, and I saw someone jump off it (using Commando I assume) and I followed him, stabbed him while we were both in midair and I landed safely. Beastly. :D

Is this 'your shotgun' or 'a shotgun'. If it's the previous. I believe this is rape. :o

    AA-12

Scavenger + Lightweight + Steady Aim + Extended Mags

= Stupidly overpowered and incredibly fun

    @ Shawpower

I'm pretty sure all the grip does is reduce recoil. With the spas the recoil returns sights to centre immediately after one shot and the grip is not going to add any benefit.

I haven't tested it but there was plenty of debate about this on other boards and the consensus was grip just looks nice on the spas.

That said if you find you play better with it use it. Plenty of people use FMJ cos they think it adds to the damage :)

No that would be steady aim

I know it does it too, but I thought the grip did it as well? Maybe not. I'll have to test this myself tonight, but I've no PVR so you'll have to take my word. :)

If that was the case then whats the point in using steady aim. The grip on the spas is pointless , people think it redues the spread , which it doesnt , the grip reduces recoil .

Some players prefer to use Steady Aim with this weapon because at mid range more pellets will hit doing more damage. However, Steady Aim will actually make a poorly aimed shot more likely to miss as the pellets will cover less area. One possible compromise is to use Steady Aim and fire from the hip at mid range but fire by ADS at short range, as ADS increases the spread of the shot, making it more likely to kill, at the expense of quick movement in CQC when movement is essential. A good strategy is to have Sleight of Hand Pro equipped as Perk 1, because it not only dramatically decreases reload time, but also increases the speed of aiming down the sights, because of the Pro effect.

Extended Mags is the most logical choice for the SPAS-12. Doubling the shell capacity of the SPAS-12 to 16 shells makes it remarkably effective for long term close quarter battles. The Grip does lessen the view kick, but the SPAS-12 is already centered by the end of firing cooldown anyway due to its pump action nature, so it's hardly worth using even when firing from the hip. The silencer reduces its range considerably, but it will still have more range than the Rangers. However, the silencer greatly reduces its one shot kill capabilities, being one of the strongest abilities of the SPAS-12. Going against popular opinion, the SPAS-12 with FMJ is glitched in that no extra bullet penetration is added. Also, using alternative optics is uncommon considering ADS increases the spread, thus not contributing to the SPAS-12's power, meaning that many players will replace them for a Grip and/or Extended Mags

I think all the attachments for the spas are broken. It's my favourite secondary and I generally just slap on the rds, which makes no sense on a shotty.
