The idea of this thread is to outline workout routines that can be done at home with little or no equipment. So even if you cannot make the gym for what ever reason, you can drop in here for some ideas for routines you can do at home, in the park, on the beach etc, which require little or no equipment.

Please do not use this thread for general postings or questions/comments regarding the routines. Please start a new thread in the general forum for all such discussions.

In the first video I perform a routine consisting of Sit-ups, Double unders (which could be swapped with normal skipping for 20-30 seconds if you cannot do double unders) and Box Jumps.

Note: By right clicking on any of my videos and chosing "Watch on Youtube" you will get a description of the workout under the video

In the second Video I go through an effective core routine.

The video below shows a Box hop and Kettle Bell Swing ladder routine where you do a set number of box hops and KB swings in 1 minute.
The routine ends when you can not complete the required number of repetitions inside 1 minute.

Here is one of my home workout routines. I do two rounds of this for time.

I have modified it slightly by cutting the burpees back to 25 and adding in 25 squat thrusts using 2 x 16kg KB's

So my routine is 2 rounds of the following for time
    • 25 V-Ups
    • 50 KB Snatches (25 each arm, 16kg KB)
    • 25 Push-ups
    • 50 Double Hand KB Swings (16kg KB)
    • 25 Burpees
    • 25 Squat Thrusts (with 2 16kg KB's)
    • 50 Mountain Climbers
    • 50 KB Clean & Press (25 each arm, 16kg KB)

I think it is a great conditioning routine.

Another video showing how you can stay in great shape without going to a gym and just using what's in your environment.

    Hi All

I thought I would throw up a few links to outlets where you can pick up some equipment for use in your home workouts, kettle bells, doorway chin-up bars, resistance bands etc.

If any body wants to add links, I would ask that you PM them to me or any of the fitness Mods and we will add then to this thread, so all links are in one thread. Rather then having lots of threads with one or two links in each.

Also if buying kettlebells or dumbbells etc, I would caution that you can often handle a heavier weight than you think, buy with you progressing in mind. You can drop into most the outlets listed below and try out any weights, KB's etc before you buy them.

    So for the links
    • Irish Lifting - For Chin-up bars, Kettlebells and lots more
    • Irish Fit - For resistance bands foam rollers and much more
    • Irish Physio Supplies - Same range as Irish Fit
    • Buy Kettlebell Dublin - For all your kettlebell requirements. Also run KB workshops. MMA folks might be interested in their Bulgarian Bags
    • Wild Geese Fitness - Kettlebell supplier, Kettlebell training & Kettlebell Instructor courses if you were so inclined
    • Bodylastics - Fitness Bands (I have TO strong Man edition and really like them)
    • TRX Fitness - TRX Suspension Trainer. No need to miss workouts when you are on the road
    • BodyRock.tv - Fitness Advice and Home Workout Videos

Substitute press ups for the dips if needed and all can be done from home or gym -

You will NOT go wrong with both of these and massive metabolic/fat burning effect off both

All you need is a pull up bar and you can hit this classic www.crossfit.ie workout

Yes the girl can possibly do more rounds than you but start with inverted rows and work up to the pull ups

You can just put in press ups instead and remember to do 15 squats for every break you take (that means if you put your knees on the floor for press ups or rack the bar -do 15 full depth squats). The run at the end is odd as your arms are not really there -

A variation of crossfit the chief (should be 3 power cleans) but perfect again for home session. 3mins AMRAP take a 1 or 2min break (3mins if needed) and repeat 5 times.
