anyone else feel sorry for lindsey lohan , sent to jail for 90 days for failing to show up at some alcohol education classes ... give her a break , she was a bad girl / teen ... but she is clean now and alcohol free , but the Conservative puritans in California want to make her suffer pure humiliation ... the media created the monster that was (alcohol fiend) and are now enjoying the crash

going to the classes was the terms of her probation, she failed to meet those terms, thats why shes going to jail, just because shes a so called celeb doesn't mean she should be treated any different.

Meh, typical arrogant celeb attitude that the rules shouldn't apply to me because I'm famous.

She'll only serve 0.25 of the sentence anyways.

Wonder how long she will actually spend in jail? She could be another Paris Hilton....

The Judge gave her a break the last time and told her she had to go to rehab once a week and she wouldn't have to go to jail. She didn't do as she was told and now she's going to jail. Simple.
Silly girl, what did she think was gonna happen, cos she's a celebrity it'd all be forgotten about?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,739 ✭✭✭✭starbelgrade

I wasn't sure which burd she was, so I Googled pics of her. She's very fond of the aul "nip slip", by the looks of it.

In fairness though, I did type in "Lindsay Lohan nip".

Why show her lenience? We're always wondering why the rich and famous don't get the same treatment as the rest of us, well here you go. Not above the law- it's good to see imo.

She showed up to court with a "fúck you" message written on her fingernails. Yeah, really looks like she's trying.

not here , but in America they seam to enjoy punishing celebrities, if its related to alcohol or drugs (murder is ok ) - some balanced justice i would say

I feel sorry for her. She's a girl in her early 20s, in an industry surrounded by partying, and she's now in jail. Previously she had to check in every week or so to prove that she wasn't drinking.
Would you be happy to do that at 23/24??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,772 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

You'd think she would leave it out on the day of a crucial court hearing. Just demonstrates her immaturity.

Well then I wish we punished celebrities for no good reason. What I'd give to see Jedward doing 6 months in the joy.

'hiiiii guys I'm John and I'm Edward, this sleepover's gonna be sooo EXCITING".

    WHACK.

    1. She got jailed for drink driving. She was given a lenient sentence initially, but then didnt bother her beautiful little arse turning up at the meetings. She thought been famous she'd get away wit it

2.'Media created the monster'?? Thoses bastards, publicising her films, keeping her in the public eye, allowing her to earn millions per year

If she was trying she would have turned up for the meetings. Also, fairly sure they dont serve alchol in jail. Obviously drugs are available inside but alchol guna be a bit harder to get

I cant believe anyone, over the age of 12, not close to her would be against this ruling. OP, you must have been really mesmerised by her performance in 'Herbie Fully Loaded' to come out with such bull****

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

    Bullshìt!

Nothing makes me more sick than celebrities getting a slap on the wrist for serious offences. People get locked up for things like unpaid fines and taxes whereas celebrities can have their jail sentences sliced and their drug charges dropped.

Anyways, nobody destroyed that skank's career except herself.

Didn't the alcohol monitoring bracelet she was ordered to wear go off a couple of weeks ago? Also, she's not clean, she's on a ton of prescription meds

How is she trying to change exactly? She blatantly disregarded the terms of her probation repeatedly. She didn't show up to court a couple of months back cause she was too busy partying in Cannes, claiming her passport had been stolen

She deserves it, why should she be treated any differently just because she's famous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,952 ✭✭✭Lando Griffin

Her father is Irish, and has had problems with drink, I think we should be supporting her instead of bashing her good name.
It wasn't long ago when she was one of our own.
What about casting the first stone, who cant say they get violently drunk every week, of have big drug benges in their house, maybe not anymore but when the boom was around everyone was at it. It is an Irish thing to be addicted to some thing or another.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 285 ✭✭not_xanthor

Obviously the 'Fu' was digitally superimposed as part of the hounding process we're discussing.

Even if her 'career is over', she's probably made enough money to live quite comfortably for the rest of her life, and IIRC she was rich anyway.

spoilt rich kid who thought she could get away with not showing up for court and said she forgot what the conditions were for rehab, its not harsh cos she will be out with a bracelet on foot withen two weeks just like that other rich heiress who,s mammy and daddy owns hotels or some thing like that.,

Are you serious? Because she has an Irish father, that does not make her ''one of our own''. Secondly; even if she was Irish, are you seriously suggesting that she should be allowed to break the rules of her probation?

ah sure thats alright then , let her be one of the wino,s sitting on street corners, if she dont want help from rehab why should we over here be botherd about her, irish blah blah, so what if daddy is irish, its got nothing to do with where she is from , no one forced her to go feeding herself drink.

Apparently she's been cut from the trailer for Machete, and is no longer credited in it.

Considering the movie is just a tad tongue in cheek, i don't know why they'd remove her from the trailer....

...unless it's a cynical attempt to generate publicity for the movie.

Which reminds me. I must go see Machete.

But it's okay for Irish people, or people of Irish descent, to be drunk..... apparently.

It's her own fault. She's a complete and utter party animal. She even asked the judge to remove her scram bracelet for the 2 weeks she has before she has to go to jail  She missed something like 9 alcohol recovery classes, she's had a DUI, violated her probation by partying in Monaco, etc. etc.

I am thrilled the judge gave her the 90 days in jail followed by 90 days in rehab, maybe that'll finally teach her a lesson - she's a spoiled little brat. I have no sympathy for her - she showed up to court with F YOU written on her nails for goodness sake!! She was just thinking she'd get away with it again.

She'll end up probably serving half that sentence. Paris Hilton served about half of hers, so she'll prob do the same. Might be a wake up call for her.

As I posted in a thread on this subject in AH:
She is being put into a section that is used for "stars". Thats means that she will be kept away from the majority of the normal mob.
There is as much chance of her being ganged up on in there as there is a chance of me kissing Mary Harney!

    Another point to ponder:
Lindsay Lohan may soon be on her way to prison, but her legal woes are turning into her biggest pay-day in years. Bids for the troubled starlet's pre- and post-prison interview are now coming in at over $500,000. Major TV networks -- which technically don't pay for interviews but often get around that by paying for pictures -- are putting in bids by joining forces with weekly magazines to score the big jailhouse chat....
...A source told Page Six, "The irony is Lindsay is in demand. The bidding is over $500,000 for the rights to the pre-jail interview, the prison diary and the first chat when she is released. "But Lindsay is still convinced she'll get a reduced term -- even if she has to go to rehab afterwards for longer. She has spoken to a number of lawyers over the weekend."

    Source: http://www.idontlikeyouinthatway.com/2010/07/lindsay-is-worth-more-in-jail.html

She will come out of this more better of than going in and she more than likely won't serve the full 90 days by far.
    Some punishment!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,952 ✭✭✭Lando Griffin

If Lindsey does not want to give up drink and drugs then she doesnt want to. Throwing her into jail and then to rehab is not going to work, an addict will only give up their addiction if they want to and not some phony wannabe Judge judy trying to make a name for herself. Lindsey is a lovely woman with a few problems that she needs to sort out herself. She has a special place in my home if she wishes to get away from it all.
