Basically eat less & move more. Eating less is easier when you reduce your carbs and increase protein intake. Diet is the most important factor. Cut out all junk food straight away.

Would also say quick weight loss isnt a great idea long term. The weight lost very quickly will be more likely to come straight back on. But 10lbs in 4 weeks would not be that much especially if you were little overweight.

Agreed. 10lbs in 4 weeks is easily achieveable.

Post up your current daily diet, de detailed, everything, even cups of tea, with without sugar etc and people here will tell you where you are going wrong. but as said above, increase the exercise and watch what you are eating, resuce carb intake especially in the evening I find always helps.

Easy...ditching the fat is straight forward.

The toning issue is about your general state of conditioning and current lean muscle mass...for some people just stepping out of the fat suit is enough to achieve the 'toned' look you are seeking but for others it is about throwing off the fat suit and then also doing some general conditioning and strength work just to improve muscle quality.

So...10lbs you say...what do you weigh at the moment? Just so we can be specific with the recommendations.

Do you want to do it over 4 weeks or are you just giving yourself that amount of time to do it?

You can definitely lose at least half a stone (7lbs) if you work hard in the gym. Dieting alone isn't going to make the problem areas go away, alas.

You sound like you're in a bit of a panic though, I take it you have a special event coming up? Are you doing any exercise at the moment, or are you starting from scratch?

    Hi!

thanks for the replies! i booked a last minute holiday yesterday hence the big panic! Im 5'7 and 140lbs, so realisitcally im not too overweight??!! all bad foods are gone as of today and cutting out all carbs after 6 (and anything refined). have started today by having plenty of fruit, soda bread for lunch and salad and chicken for dinner. i have been exercising on and off for the last while but nothing too consistant i suppose? diet wise i understand its going to be a matter of discipline, im just not too sure on how much and what kind of cardio/exercise i have to do to burn as much fat in as little time!!

thanks for everybodies replies so far! they have a great help!

Gosh, you're not overweight at all!
But if you do want to lose some lbs I just read a greta book (borrowed from library)
Anna Richardsons Body Blitz Diet - it's a 2 week plan, the 5 basic rules are
no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no carbs after 6, no alcohol.
It's a good read and I reckon with some planning & will power you'd get great results.

thanks! would you have any idea on how much cardio i should be doing weekly ???

Doing about 3-4 cardio sessions a week for about 15-20 mins each with a bit of weight training should work.

This will depend on your own fitness levels, time available etc.

The best answer (seen as you are on a deadline) is as much as you can!

But, by going from nothing to 4/5/6 days a week will be tough so listen to your body as rest is as important as exercise and nutrition.
