    hi all,
basically 14st 5.9ft not as fit as i want and i eat way to many carbs...
for the last week i have cut out the bread/cream/sweets/crisps and cut down on spuds/pasta/rice and have been having the following:

for breakfast on alternate days i will go for 3 egg omelet and coffee, or weetabix (x2) and coffee and juice

lunch is Mixed lettuce and rocket/ 2 slices of parma ham/ small amount of fetta cheese / handful of grapes with a sprinkle of virgin olive oil.

snack of apple and bag of pop corn

dinner varies each night (chicken or meat or fish with veg small few baby potatoes or pasta)

i have also start jogging again 3 times a week for 20-30mins (2 weeks at it now)

Can i please ask when will i expect to start seeing some results? im looking at losing 1 0r 2 stone and know it'll take time, but i have also stoped drinking for the last 2 weeks (used to be 10-12 pints spread over the weekend) and just want some kind of milestone/goal to aim towards regarding a time.
any help advie would be great... and no its not my first time trying this but the carbs always let me down :(

Not an expert but I'd look at that and think not enough fats

Did you take pictures of yourself before you started? You might be getting results already without realising it on the scales yet

Are you on a calorie deficit?

Just because you've gone from eating excessive carbs to less carbs does not guarantee any change on your body composition.

Btw bags of popcorn do not form part of a low carb weight loss diet ;)

    better than crisps though ;)

im currently trying to cut down as well. Roughly 6ft, 13stone (85KG)

Basically the way i look at it is, you have a daily calorie allowance of 2500 for a man and 2000 for a woman.

i try and stick to eating 2500 calories approx a day, then if i go for a run ( approx 5miles) that burns off 700-800 calories then if you gym it etc it burns off bits and bobs.

This for me is working, slowly but surely, i have lost 4kg and about an inch off my waistline, and to be honest you wont notice the loss yourself it will be others that point it out to you, because your looking at yourself everyday you wont see a change imo

    good luck with it though

No one can answer your question OP it would depend on so many variables, you're just going to have to stick with it and figure out some accurate way to monitor your progress, using a measuring tape is the most honest and reliable way, the scales will lie to you on a regular basis. Maybe keep a journal or log of your progress.

OP - you will just have to stick with it until you eventually start to see results. Now I'm trying to convince myself as much as you - I know how frustrating it can be. I feel like I have been on a diet for months now and with very little results. I was getting very down about it a few weeks ago until I realised that was completely useless. So I'm just staying away from the scales for a while and sticking with the diet.
