Mixer help needed!

Hey guys

my band and I are looking to buy a High Quality mixer for live gigs. We are interested in a 16 XLR input desk with built in effects.

We dont have much knowledge when it comes to mixers so any help and tips would be welcome.

Forgetting about budget, what are the top mixer brands and models?

Have a look at Midas they have a great reputation for live consoles.

The Yamaha LS range are getting used a lot too.

Can't go wrong with a Yamaha 01v96.
12 mic pres but has adat in so you can add an 8 channel pre with adat out.
Behringer ada8000 for example.
EQ, gate, compressor every channel. 4 effects processors, 4 omni outs for monitor mixes and total recall of your settings.
Amazing mixer for the money.
Can be got used for less than 2K.

Analogue: Midas Venice
Digital: Yamaha LS9

For a gigging band, the Allen & Heath MixWizard is hard to beat.

Digidesign Venue. Or it's probably Avid Venue now. And I think they're bringing out a new one soon.
