Protien shakes? A decent diet is more what I'd recommend. A gym that's close to you is the one you're more likely to go to. IMO try a day or two pay as you go in galway city gym.

Seems to have all the basic equipment needed like. ( prob be there meself next week :))

You need to eat more, consistently, for long periods of time, in order to gain weight. Where in galway are you? for someone starting out there isn't that much of a difference between gyms so imo at least it comes down to where you're based and how close each one is to you.

It's a common complaint, Transform (a poster here) has a video up on his youtube page dealing with this issue.

No but if you're going to try and gain weight there are much better ways than protein shakes which don't have many calories and are just a supplement, not the main thing you should base weight gain on.

what would you suggest ? Just eat more , more often

Yup. You don't need to go overboard from the beginning, just adding a couple of peanut butter sandwiches or a litre of milk a day or something similar calorie wise should be enough to make the scales move after a couple of weeks.

It depends on where you live too, I would recommend visiting their websites to view memberships etc, for a beginner you don’t need a great variety of equipment so keep that in mind with membership prices.

    Never gone to a gym

For a beginner to get used to weights and working out don’t go to the gym more than 3 times per week, don’t lift too heavy and practice controlled movements and proper breathing. Look for a beginners routine online plenty of websites out there or ask a trainer at a gym you join (make sure they give workout plans)

p.s if you have you have lost a lot of weight then you really should speak to a doctor before you start.

    Protein shakes
You don’t need protein shakes as a beginner. You shouldn’t even think about protein shakes now. Proper meals will be fine. After a 2-3 months you wont be a beginner and seeing as you are skinny and cant put up weight easily then maybe protein or weight gain shakes might help.
