well this should be a no brainer, right??
it will all depend on how spain approach the game,
i can see them getting very frustrated as the paraguay will set up primarely based around the defence.
im assuming torres will get 1 last chance to "prove" himself up front,
but at the end of the day it will fall on villas performance..
    spain win for me 1/2

Looking for Paraguay to win for a prediction comp, but can't see anything bar a Spain win.

2-0 @ 5/1 and Sapin to win both halves @5/2 for me.

I don't know about them taking an early lead, not something I'm confident enough to bet on...but PPs price on the handicap looks really nice. I'm doubling it with a German qualification. Bit risky but at least if the germans do the business I'll have a bet running - other wise I'll chase my losses with a single :P

    Germany to Qualify @ 11/10
    Spain -1 @ 6/4

    Double
    4.2/1

    Possible single on Spain -1

might give this a miss unless the germans win for me and if they do
    im thinking
draw ht spain ft at 4.5 for a small stake

Going with a Germany/Spain(-1.0) double and Spain to win 3-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

100 on Spain to win to nil at evens.

Probably my only bet. Although considering 50 on Handicap draw +2 at 4.33.

    Villa to score first @4.0

    Spain to win 2-0 @6.2

    Red card @3.2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

I've gone in on Spain -1.

Together with my double I've chucked my modest balance on Spain -1. It'll stop me backing horses for the night at least :P

Its about €65 riding on it I think

I'd put my money on Cardozo. Fantastic penalty taker for club as us Liverpool supporters should know :(

best of luck with that but your
kinda throwing all your eggs in the one basket there mate,
if villa doesnt score, then you stand to lose quiet a bit??
im pretty sure he will though but wouldnt put money on it,
i actually fancy torres to score,finally..

    Spain draw ht/win ft @ 3/1
Villa to score anytime @ 11/10

Paraguay will park the bus like they did against Japan, don't think Spain will break them down 1st half. Actually, wouldn't surprise me if Paraguay score first.

Tonight ref is from Guatamala. Strange choice for 1/4 final of WC.

Bound to be at least one dodgy decision

Today's ref was from Uzbekistan which was equally as weird

Yeah I know mate but I've regretted putting measly sums on Spain and Villa up until now. Majority of my bets actually. About time I've gone for something big(at least for me).

I hope Fernando scores, mainly for his confidence before going into the league season with Liverpool ;) Can't say I'm confident in him scoring today though I have to say. Paraguay will sit back leaving no space behind... even if that wasn't the case Spain don't play to Torres' strengths.

In charge of the opening game I think the RTE lads said. If that's correct he was superb in that.

Actually he has been very good throughout the tournament!

Edit: I see I'm not alone in thinking that. :)

Spain don't play to Torres' strengths.

    thats very true...
rte analysists seem to agree aswel,
"they play to much of a passing game, where torres would prefer a threw ball",hence him not scoring,,,
    best of luck anyway

Starting to feel nervous....Best of luck to everyones with your bets,
Come on Villa, Spain, over 2 goals too!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Won €200 from the German game today, so going to stick €100 on Spain to win in normal time at 4/9. I'm hoping that's a safe enough bet. :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,979 ✭✭✭Vurnon San Benito

Paraguay have drifted to 8.5's now - quite ridiculous.
There's not that much of a gap between both of these sides in the World Cup Quarter Finals but saying that, it's following the trend of the punters.

I'm not fully convinced that Spain will win in normal time but who knows.

Good luck to everyone betting on this game tonight.

I'd say there will be a goal or 2 in this match but it'll be quite tight the result.

I don't rate any RTE analyst but anyway.. all spoofers.
I personally feel that Torres will score tonight.

Don't have any money on him personally, but I do need a Spain victory.

paraguay are a damn hard side to break down
should be scoreless at ht but thats only 8/13
    at the moment

All i need is a goal from now until the 90th minute to win my bet.

I've passed the hard part. Hopefully someone scores. I don't care who it is.

Can't believe nobody took the bet i posted up.

No goals until after the 26th minute @ EVS.

Easy money provided someone now scores.

    Jasus spain are playing sh1t.

why the manager keeps playing torres l dont know..
there is plenty of players on the bench who are match fit.

lm getting worried spain could be going out tonight.

I think they scored shortly after takin torres off in a previous game so this man makes a good point

El nino is useless alright, to think i backed him to be top goalscorer pre World Cup!

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

The nerves are starting to kick in.
Looking back at the bets I made I just want someone to kick me.

    Ahhhhhhh hindsight.... :pac:

I thought Paraguay would be shattered by them having to play ET but they have played well so far.

feck stuck a saver on the paraguayo's to win in running there at 17/2 they look hungry for it but i backed a spain holland final aswell so its a love hate thing,..gotta love the underdog tho!
