Eliptical Machine Repair

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before or would know who to contact.

We've had an eliptical machine in the house about 4 years now and I've started using it the last year. Since last month I've been doing serious sessions on it, but today it broke!

The part that connects both pedals to the wheel at the rear of the machine is broken at one side. It seems as if its just broken off from the very middle of the wheel. And as a result the pedal and casing on the right side have now come off rendering the right side and thus the whole bike useless.

I'm devastated as I was really getting into my fitness regime as I find running quite difficult but this was really working for me. Hopefully my description is somewhat accurate of what has happened, do you think I will be able to get it repaired, or will I probably have to shell out for a new eliptical. Also, are there any good repair companies for this sort of thing, or as I said, am i I better off looking for a new one.

Many thanks to anyone who has any advice.

What make is it? I'd imagine each manufacturer has their own recommended service providers, and they'll probably need to supply any parts required anyway.

I'd recommend googling the manufacturer and then contacting them for advice.

If you're handy at DIY you could also try getting technical info/advice at one or more of these too.

    Just answer - Exercise equipment.

http://treadmillpartszone.blogspot.com/ - not just treadmills but also ellipticals (cross trainers) and other equipment, and says technical info is available at treadmillparts@gmail.com .

    Or FixYa.com

But they're all in the USA so might not be the greatest for actually getting parts. I'd definitely try manufacturer as first port of call.
