No, cheese is a perfectly good food, with a nice ratio of protein and fat. Just make sure you have the calories to allow for it. Pick a mature sharp cheese so you get plenty of flavour without having to drown your cauliflower.

I'd be inclined to disagree but anyway, you're not likely to find a consesnus here, so you might as well look into it and decide for yourself.

Ah go on....tell us why? Is it just the fat content?

I eat a lot of cheese myself. Mostly cottage cheese to be honest.

If you're looking for something lower calorie OP, consider some gravy. Nyom!

No not at all, more the proteins like caseins, lactose and bioactive peptides, that I have my concerns about. There's a lot going on in dairy products some of it fantastic health wise other stuff not so good. I don't see the point of taking the good with the bad when I can get fat and protein elsewhere without the ties.

i'm looking for something to make the cauliflower less bland because i can only eat so much of it. same with broc. ideally i guess i'm looking for low cal / low carb / high protein / good fats.

i might try some gravy but was under the impression that was pretty bad?

Cauliflower soup is surprisingly nice, and not as bland as normal cauliflower. Broccolli soup is DELICIOUS! I don't like either of them boiled or steamed at all.

For brocolli soup just saute an onion, add stock and broccolli and boil and blend. Don't add too much stock to boil it, add some afterwards if the soup is too think for you. It's nicest with lots of stalk and less leaf. It takes twenty minutes, try it!
