thanks OP, the first code came up as invalid but the second worked a treat.
just got a front invisiable shield for my 3GS for €9.

Sadly, the two codes didn't work for me! But thanks for trying!

Honestly I don't see a point in buying any of these things. At least until apple make a statement or something?

If the reception problems are hitting the 3GS as well as the 4 after the software update, wouldn't that mean its a software problem?

People are spending money on tape!!!!

    Neither of the codes work.

I think dazftw is right, hold on a while to see if a software update fixes the issue. Maybe they could change the ohm levels or something, but I not betting on it. If it was an easy fix, there's no way Apple would be releasing statements telling people to hold it differently!

Hmm.. They worked for me and the email I got said I could share them. I'll see can I dig up another one.

Reception issues or not, they are a great product. I have one on everything I own and the YouTube videos are true, you cannot scratch these things. They also replace them, no hassle if they come off (Which is nigh impossible)

guys, you do know the invisiable shield is a screen protector, nothing whatsoever got to do with signal or signal boosting etc

i only bought the front protection, no need for the back protection imo.

Think you'll find you are mistaken.

    APLIPHONE4GMC.jpg

It covers the metal bezel and will fix the reception issue.

The idea is to protect the device. I amn't advocating or implying they fix the signal problem. Technically if you covered the sides you would place a non-conducting material between you and the aerial. Should stop any problem.

But I'm only advocating the protection at the moment. Its second to none.

yeah sorry, i was only talking about the standard protection covers, the signal issue didnt even come into my mind as i bought for the 3GS.

Put one on there last night. Followed all the instructions as in the packaging. There's a couple wee spots on the screen but can't tell if it's dirt underneath or air bubbles :-( what happens if I've made a balls of it and have to take it off?

I've put about 50 of these on for mates. My process is:

    1) Clean the phone with a small amount of alcohol (I use surgical eye wipes or anti sceptic wipes)

    2) Dry the phone with a lint free cloth. Ensure no dirt of on the phone

    3) Use the liquid, loads of it, and be sure to place the shield

    4) Spend lots of time aligning and using a credit card to squeegee the liquid away.

    5) Place in a light cloth and in a warm place for 12 hours (Essential!) Do not use the phone. A much better finish is achieved if you leave for 12 hours in a warm place.

    To answer your question:

The bubbles you can see, if they are small, are small pockets of liquid used to apply. The best option is to apply the shield, use a credit card to get it squeegee'd and then place in a warm place (Wrap in a light blanket) for at least 12 hours. I use a computer as you don't want it too warm either (An immersion can be a little hot some times)

If you remove the shield it will not stick again. The glue is immensely strong (Took two people to remove my iPhone shield) and is one use only. If you do remove it, or have some spare, try out the sales stuff. i.e. Stick a pen through it. Its all true :)

Whats the difference between the normal & easy install versions?

...and is there any difference in level of protection?

got one of these in the o2 shop and boy was it a pain to put on - did not bother with the top and bottom pieces and thought it would not work but after leaving it over night it came out ok , not perfect but no bubbles or edges comming away -

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,090 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Picked up one in the o2 store this morning, Installed in without the top and bottom sides, but followed instructions supplied and installation video on their site to the letter and it seems to have worked pretty well. I plan on also using one of those cheap silicon covers for extra protection. I was more worried about protecting the screen from scratches so felt this was the best option to take.
