Obviously will feature a Money in the Bank match so expect qualifying matches pretty soon. I'm hopeing that Evan Bourne will win MitB. It'd set him up after his feud with Y2J.
A source within Kansas City heard on their local radio stations that the main event for the PPV was scheduled to be Sheamus vs. John Cena in a Steel Cage match. Of course things are always subject to change

    Isnt rumoured that
There'll be 2 seperate matches one for Raw, one for Smackdown, kind of waters down the "Mr Money in the Bank" concept tbh, but still should be a very fun PPV

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

I don't think there's need for spoiler tags, there's spoilers in the title:):)

I'd hate it if that happend tbh. Completely defy's the purpose of Money in the Bank by having 2 Mr MitB imo

Why are they bringing out all these 'specialist' ppvs? Bring back King of the Ring instead of TLC, Hell in a Cell and Elimination Chamber

These matches used to be ones they brought out once a year and were, in the most part epic. Mankind vs The Undertaker in HIAC in 1998, TLC at Wrestlemania 17 for example... The saturation of these matches that take over an entire ppv waters down the effect of the matches...

Or maybe I'm just ranting and taking the thread off topic :o

As much as I like KOTR, ive a feeling it will only be used as a them to build occasional (not even every year) 3 hour Raws around if they feel they have someone who could benefit from a push under a "King" gimmick and that the MITB ppv will actually be seen as the new KOTR i.e the PPV that if you win the tournie would mean you have a big push coming and have been earmarked as a future main eventer after all it will guarantee you a title shot and most likely given the way you can cash it in a championship reign as a result. I would expect there to only be 1 MITB match itself which would be interpromotional after guys from Raw/SD compete in qualifying matches to get there including maybe 2 semi-finals on the PPV card along with the MITB match, 2 HW title matches (inc maybe that Cena/Sheamus Cage match) and one or two other matches (IC/US/Tag/Womens/Divas). I could be miles off on that but thats something along the lines of what i might suggest for the BWE version anyway.

Kurt Angle wearing the crown sideways on his big head etc ... they should bring back KOTR just for that :D

Likely participants for the MITB match(es) are:

RAW: Bourne, R-Truth, Ted Jr., Morrison, Miz, Ryder

SmackDown: Ziggler, Christian, Cody, Drew, Masters, MVP, Hardy, Kofi

I'd prefer two six-man matches rather than one eight-man match. The cocncept is watered-down enough at this stage that I don't think it matters whether there is a second MITB holder out there.

    Other likely matches are:

    Cena - Sheamus
    Swagger - Rey
    Punk - Kane
    Harts - Usos

Yeah 8 is way too many. At Mania it got a bit ridiculous with guys getting one spot in and then not being seen again. I'd say six would be the max. Anything above is too much but I think they could work with just 4 in each match. Four guys who people actually think have a chance to win would be better than having 4 spare bodies for spots that everybody knows will not win AKA Mark Henry.

I really really hope Christian wins MITB (imo he should have won it at WM) and cashes it in at SS against Edge or Jericho - I know its a long shot but I can dream ;)

    * At least BWE appreciates the greatness of Christian and have him as champion Bang Bang ;) *

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 919 ✭✭✭TheTosh

Edge Christian now there's a feud I'd watch because I know it would deliver top matches but it won't happen because its not Edge Taker, Edge Cena or Edge Orton

Eight men in two MitB matches each feels like it's going to be messy. Who's going to be left after those and two (probable) title matches? Tag and diva matches ahoy! I was hoping for half and half from both brands (ideally three each) in one MitB match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

    2 matches announced:
    - Rey Rey vs. Swagger for the WHC
    - 8 man SD MitB match

So I expect Raw to have their own MitB match as well.

BTW, this is on Sky Sports HD1/1 on 18/7 at 1am with the replay on Monday night at 9 on Sky Sports HD4/4

A Cork source told me that the suprise winner of MITB will be.............
    1266941130.jpg

Dunno, think they might be taking the piss. :pac:

Seriously though I hope Christian wins so he can get his well deserved push.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,933 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

my guess at who will win MITB mostly going on their current level in the MITB and that they could pull off such a match.

    Raw: John Morrison

    SD: Christian / Kofi Kingston

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

What about Dashing Cody Rhodes? :pac: Something tells me that they wouldn't have let him do that promo unless they wanted to put him in a more prominent position. I think he may be a contender.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,029 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

MITB matches wouldnt be same now without the Shelton Benjamin spot fests :(

It was announced on Raw that the Raw brand Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which takes place at WWE's Money in the Bank PPV, will feature Randy Orton, Edge, Evan Bourne, R-Truth, The Miz, Chris Jericho, Ted DiBiase and John Morrison.

I guess they realistically didn't see Henry climbing one then :pac:

Id would be a great comedy spot if they had a ladder give out under the weight of whale-man....

If his injury is indeed mild enough to work through, I'd bet on R-Truth's push continuing with a MITB Raw win. SD is made a little less certain by the 'dashing' promo, but I still say/hope Christian will get his moment.

A cage match, eth? Hope they let Sheamus win this one. Doubt they will- anyone see an NXT cage invasion in the offing?

Whats the point in having Randy Orton or Jericho or Edge in the match? Surely they have held the title enough and will have furture opportunities

Give a mid push guy a chance to look good beating down a "big name" while making it belivable.

It would be a bit daft if either 1 of them was to win it imo.

Great point, I can see it happening after the cage match. I'd be well pissed if they let Cena win just to have him job minutes later to the MITB winner and give him yet again another meaningless title notch

Judging by the participants in the Raw MITB match I guess the likes of Punk, Kane, Big Show could be in the SD one.

Hopefully they give the briefcases to the likes of Kofi and Miz and not Punk and Orton/Edge/Jericho who don't need it.

I think we get Rey v Swagger for the belt.

    MITB

    Kane v Show v Punk v Ziggler v Cody v Kofi v MVP v Christian

Drew will be in their if they sort out his visas issues.

Its been done to death. Sure when it happened in the elimination chamber with Edge it was new but now everyones at it. :pac:

I'd like to see a guy like Punk win it and continue that feud with Rey.

I'm waiting for him to finish Mysterio off, I'm tired of Rey and the whole underdog angle, I'd like to see him turn heel

Kane could win then go on and cash it in become champion and then Taker comes back and in the biggest shock ever that no one ever saw coming, Kane was Taker's attacker:eek: Taker goes on to beat Kane and becomes champion like he does whenever he comes back after WM

I love to see him on one side Henry on the other, it would the slowest race to the top as both would be climbing each step gingerly to avoid putting stain on it all while the ladder has tapped out long ago because the poor thing couldn't take anymore

    R.I.P Ladder

WWE creative is looking at having one of the two Money in the Bank winners cash their title shot in before the SummerSlam pay-per-view. This might be done so the rest of the year can be planned with only one Superstar having a briefcase.

i am guessing edge and orton will prevent each other from winning so to continue their feud i say sheamus might hold onto his title also

Not HHH anyway. Possibly Wade Barrett. Perhaps since no one in Nexus can get a title shot, Wade will enter the mitb match to gain his title shot another way.

Or maybe they'll just throw someone random into the match who was never going to win anyway
