    Where do I begin..

    Bioshock 2 - 14.99

    Dirt2 - 12.50

Big savings on indie games, Call of duty packs

Think its done by genre.. right now its action games.. not as crazy as Christmas, still very good though

Bioshock 2 and Dirt 2 are both excellent, well worth the sale prices !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,919 ✭✭✭✭Gummy Panda

I got bioshock2 and trine for less then 20 euro. Happy days :D

I had trine on ps3 but the controls were a bit awkward so decided I wanted to try the proper controls.

EDIT: witcher is only 5euro for director's cut. I paid 15euro last week for it

Cheers for the heads-up! Just got Bioshock 2 and the complete Overlord collection.

Edit: The Witcher is only 5.43, bargain!

Must say, Steam's prices are only OK normally - but they rock during the mega sales.:)

    THQ Complete Pack €50

If you buy a complete pack can you gift a game you already own from it?

*edit* red faction guerrilla was included in the thq pack but now appears to be removed :?

I don't think you can gift games you already own from a pack.
I've got packs before were I already had a few and it just warned I already had some of them.
I think the gifting thing was just for the Orange Box

Yeah the duplicate game gifting only applies to a select few games, all of which are listed here.

Those complete pack deals are amazing how do they make a profit on that.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 662 ✭✭✭Liber8or

Argh! After EA week my wallet is suffering, but now...all these deals. Broken Sword II for €1.67! The Witcher €6!

Also, bear in mind that there is a daily special selection. So, certain games will be reduced even further for a limited time! Gonna pick up the Unreal Deal Pack. €13.49 for all the Unreal Games.

Super Laser Racer is also a nifty old school type game that's going for only €1 - drop that one in to your basket too, nice little game.

The expansion is only €6.80 as well.

Bought four games already and am severely tempted by the THQ pack, gonna see if I can get a friend in England to gift it to me as it's only £26 there and is far to expensive at €50 here for what is in it....

    :p

Old games that have passed martet saturation. By now they'll have recouped there initial investment on them and a steam sale probably needs little/no marketing budget from the publisher and no packaging costs. I'd say they make close to 100% profit (discounting Values cut).

    xcom complete pack is 11.24

In the past few sales the STALKER games have been heavily discounted as part of the daily specials so keep an eye out for them their during the week.

Deus Ex and Invisible War were reduced during the week to €2.49 to celebrate Deus Exs 10th anniversary so I dont know if they will come up during the Summer sale.

my credit card payment is taking more then 2 working days for some reason. I hope I don't miss any deals over weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

ok the first rebellion avp is going for 75p...Damnit thats worth getting just to organise a boards.ie game session of pants wetting alone in the dark multiplayer madness!

So cheap I even bought a copy for a few friends.

kicking myself, bioshock 2 was a tenner last night and now its 15...was gonna get it last night but decided to sleep on it.

But ghostbusters for £3 is a fine runners up.

(btw i'm going by sterly prices as currently in the uk.)

EDIT: Arma 1 worth picking up? how much of an improvement over it is arma 2?

Trials 2 is worth picking up for €5 if you dont have it! :)

picked up tropico 3 there, after knowing nothing about it.. only a tenner, seems to be well worth it.

damned confusing to begin with, but after a few hours i'm beginning to get to grips with it.. enjoying myself alot

Has anyone played mount and blade before?

Has anyone played mount and blade before?
Yes, and its pretty damn good, especially at that price. Its mounted combat is really good (obviously).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,479 ✭✭✭Niska

Has anyone played mount and blade before?

    Yep.

    To expand:

Basically a non-magical First Person Medieval RPG. Both it and Warband (the first expansion, which is stand alone) are set in a fictional world where the ancient empire has split into several factions. It's very open ended - you begin on your own but can quickly hire mercenaries onto your war-band. What you do then is up to you - think Frontier Elite, except with horses rather than spaceships.

Downsides: It's a rather plain looking game, the gameplay can get a bit repetitive and the AI is a bit thick at times, especially during sieges.

Warband polishes everything a little, and adds another faction, basically a Middle Eastern Mameluk lookalike. It also increases the sizes of the battles and adds multiplayer.

In relation to the Steam sale - I bought Warband at full price and even then considered it a bargain with the amount of game time it gave (and still occasionally gives) me.

Yes and I love it. There's a wealth of fantastic mods out there and the large scale fights are a lot of fun.

I dont like this new email to buy thing. I dont know if everyone has it, or if its just me signed up to the beta. But it takes ages for the mail to come through. Especially with the sale on.
