All all my carbs come from fruit and veg.. healthy?

I'm wondering if this is healthy.

I have switched my diet up in the last few days. My carbs now entirely come from bananas, apples (fruit), and baby spinach leaves, lettuce (veg).

My meals are heavy on either spinach leaves or lettuce and a protein source like chicken/salmon/turkey. I eat until I am full and enjoy my meals. I'll also have a banana or apple usually. I eat 2 bananas per day because it helps with my slightly high blood pressure.

So far I feel great. My goal is to shed some pounds and get in shape.

However, I'm wondering if it is healthy? I have cut out needless carbs like chocolate and ice cream. Bread is gone as well as cereal.

Do I need more carb sources? If so, can anyone give any suggestions? I probably need to integrate more varieties of fruit and veg.

Fairly healthy alrite. Are you getting enough fats in the diet? As you say, variety is key but green leafy veg like spinach and broccoli are excellent bases to add other things to. Eat any nuts? Maybe you could add complex carbs like brown rice and oats to make up any calorie deficit.

don't eat any nuts, I'm going to look into that. Any suggestions? And where could I buy them?

I get the feeling that I should add some wholegrain foods to my diet but that might hinder weight loss. The main thing I'm worried about is getting too much potassium from the fruit and veg, which can lead to sudden cardiac death i believe. Also, what are some good sources for good fats?

Nuts aren't a source of carbs
you won't have a heart attack from bananas

Also as far as i know bananas are fairly high carb for fruit (approx 26g each?) so if you're trying to go low carb they won't help..

Trust me, it's really difficult to get enough potassium, especially on a calorie restricted diet, which I'm presuming your on? I've never heard of a single person getting too much potassium from food, there's just not that much in any one food.

If you wanna up the carbs a bit, my first choice would be dense root veg like white potato, sweet potato, turnip, carrots, parnsips. Lettuce is great and all but it can get boring. Carrot, parsnip and potato are especially nice all mashed up with butter.

Second choice would be fruit, third nuts.

I don't understand, are you only eating bananas, apples and spinach or other fruit and veg too? If you're not then you need to, you definately won't meet your RDAs for different nutrients without a good varied diet, if you do it right you don't need grains but you should educate yourself on and research the matter first.
