Heard a friend of mine sayin the other day "that Leaving Cert cheating thing was found on Board.ie or Boardos.ie or some website like that,heard it on the radio drivin to work"!

Instantly i was like "yeh its Boards.ie its deadly..its not weird (went a bit high pitched on that bit) i give advice on pets and stuff" Bit like a proud club member but a bit embarrassed aswell.

There was not a hope in hell i was tellin them my username and i felt baaaad!This place is my guilty secret.Class if my mates find it, but theres no way theyre gonna know who i am. Will i get banned for being ashamed to publicly admit im a Boardsie?

Dunno about proud, but glad I am. Well glad Im part of a bunch of fellow muppets, who will read my rantings(poor bastids) and I'll read theirs. It's made me stop and think more than I would have otherwise and that cant be a bad thing.

I did tell my mam the other day though-told her i would be in Dublin at the weekend cos i was going out. When she asked who with,and i told her it was a bunch of people of the internet who i hadn't actually met before,i kinda had to explain the whole boards thing to her before she had a heart attack

I tell people about boards all the time, have no shame in it at all. Its a fountain of information on many many things, as well as a bloody good laugh by times.

Some people are very close minded to anything internet related especially on a social level, be it chat forums or online dating etc etc. If it becomes your only source of interaction with other people, well , then , yes, i can understand why it would be considered a little odd, but so long as you have a healthy balance ( real and internet based ) i think its grand.

Each to there own i guess !

Yeh im the same. Loads of mates who wouldnt bat an eyelash at me sayin i met up with random people off the net (its my mission to get to a Beers this summer), then theres others who can barely email and think its nuts.

I love it when I'm here, but when I log off and I think ''I just spent the last hour/2 hours/3 hours on an internet site posting opinions and comments with people who I dont know and may never know and I have nothing to show for it (except a post count that doesnt matter anyway)'' ( because its quality not quantity, everyone knows that, until you get to 5000 when quantity wins ).


But then I always log on again and post some more.


But every few weeks I get sick of it and stop posting and reading for a week or so and then gradually, slowly start back again . . .like a heroin addict . . . and facebook is my methadone.

I'm kinda of indifferent to a lot of it.

I love that I moderate the martial Arts forum because I've a genuine love of Martial Arts and in particular Judo, and I do think I work well at promoting M.A. through that forum.

I also Moderate the Dublin City Forum. I'm a Dub, and the best kind too - a Northsider!.

Outside of those two I'm completely indifferent. Most of my online time would be spent between facebook and a Judo forum I use.
