Wow Triny, congrats! :) Hope you have a great night! :)

Comedy club would be a great idea, surely you wouldn't be picked on if you were at the back??

Maybe some local band gig in a bar? Makes for a good night out imo but depends on what bands you're into too. :)

    Zoo is an awesome Idea.

If I was brought to a zoo on the first date, I'd probably be proposing by the end of the day/night. :D

Maybe sub lounge for a few drinks and a game or three of pool then across to the laughter lounge?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭triny

Nice, like the bowling idea, scuba diving for a first date?? Really???

Lovely guy known him since college but he was in a relationship then, then i was in one and this is the first time weve both been single since. Never really though of the idea of a 'couple', but jsut gonna see what happens!

I was joking about the scuba diving but if I lived near Dingle I would do it. It supposed to be amazing !.
At the bowling you can pretend to be crap at it ,he tries to help you, a nice way to initiate the flirting process .

    Hope you have fun.:)

I think hed be a bit suss to that! Ive never been a damsel in distress before! Is there a bowling alley on the southside bar the one in Tallaght?

There's a special price for pool at the Coolock Leisure Plex at the moment. Might be the same in the other ones around Dublin.

BumbleB, if someone said scuba diving to me on a first date I would be well impressed!! Good idea, thinking out of the box! (Going diving this evening myself). But a lot of people find it quite scary. Snorkelling is a safer option but still a deadly idea.

What about go-karting. Race each other! :)

Is bowling not more fun with more than two people? Your games will be over pretty quick.

    Pool!!!!! ;)

There is a good bit of technical stuff ya need to know before you can scuba dive.

snorkelling for date no. 2! ;)

Roller disco is new. Later you can spend the night together in casualty.

Theirs the usual restaurant, Coffee, pub

For off the wall there the Indian sculptures in Wicklow. Or Powescourt for less off the wall.

    Karting if that's your thing.

Cinema is just a no no in my book.

    Picnic in this weather.

Surf lessons (killed as above. They dont make me look flattering either)

Sorry im a little different i prefer activity to the pub. No wonder im single. :D

What about something like horse riding? I remember there was a thread in the forum a while back about this, posted by a guy wanted to take a girl he liked horse riding for a first date. It would never have been my thing, but it seemed to get quite a positive reaction in the forum. If it was a treck or trail ride rather than a lesson it could be more fun?

ETA: Just be prepared for helmet hair after it! :D

I'm immune to any pain at this stage, but I'd go with sore all over rather than just sore legs. Very good for toning legs and stomach muscles, though! :)

    http://www.victoriasway.eu/

Be warned some of them are a little unusual.

As for the leisureplex its a good idea to book a lane if you want bowling.

Comedy Club ftw! Can only be good if the date only remembers themselves laughing for most of the night(in a good way!).

I'm partial to the International Bar on Exchequer St. On every night, nice and cosy, max 30 people in the room. Found it very good for the odd date. Just don't sit up the front!

...if it's your choice... then you should definitely ask him to cook something!!

If he can manage it, it could be the start of something cool... :D

If he can't manage it, but puts in a lot of effort, the laugh will do you good and there still might be something... :p

...and if he can't even try, then he wasn't worth it! :(

(...says he who has had to cook dinner for large numbers twice in the last week - she brought her friends!! :))

While i wouldn't use it as a test as such its defiantly a nice idea.
I like it as i really enjoy cooking.

If hes really bad though what would you do?

blanchardstown is in dublin 15, not 22!

the plex have a deal called couples special, game of bowling then an hours snooker or pool for 21euro! Then if you wanted to go for food after theres a gorgeous italian restaurant next door, or if you want more relaxed atmosphere, the bar in TGI's which is on the opposite side lol would bve perfect!
