What is the best time to go to the gym, in the morning or evening?

Also if i was to go to gym in the morning should i eat breakfast before i go?

I'm new to the gym so i'm sorry if these questions are stupid:D

It depends on the person. I'm generally more of a morning exerciser but due to work and gym opening times I can't get to the gym before work so I go in the evenings. On weekends I'll go in the morning and would usually not eat before I go - or just have a slice of toast and a banana. It is entirely dependent on the person though some people cant get a quality workout done on an empty stomach and vice versa.

Whenever you will do the best workout. There are advantages and disadvantages to going at different times, but overall, it comes down to intensity. Whenever you can lift hardest, that's when to go.

And again, if you lift best on an empty stomach, then go before breakfast. If you work best with some eggs inside you, go afterwards.

The thing about fasted cardio is given far too much importance. You burn the same calories overall, so if you are eating at maintenance or in a deficit, it makes no real difference. And again, the intensity counts.

i find it pretty important; endurance or high intensity in a fasted state can be a big limiter for how long / intense i can perform...

no matter what time you train, you will get used to it after a while,

for instance, when i started, i wasnt able to train before 11am, because id be too tired, and id be weaker

im able to train at 6am now with no ill effects.

That's what I said, go when you can bring the highest intensity. There's nothing magic about cardio when you are half awake.

I normally do my best to get outta work at 4 and be in the gym at 5, it doesnt start getting busy until 6 so i have the bulk of the workout done, im pretty much on the way home when i see the queues for machines starting up....waiting for a machine or bar or bench is just something i can not do:D
