    I predict:

    Men's semi-finals:
    R. Federer v. M. Cilic
    A. Murray v. R. Nadal

    Men's final:
    R. Federer v. R. Nadal

    Men's Champion:
    R. Nadal

    Women's semi-finals:
    S. Williams v. C. Wozniacki
    J. Henin v. V. Williams

    Women's final:
    S. Williams v J. Henin

    Women's Champion:
    S. Williams

I'm gonna stick my neck right out here and say Federer or Nadal won't be champion.

Nadal is back to his best on clay , but he is very beatable on grass.

Federer is still great but not as great and it's getting tougher for him to win slams ...

I think there will be some surprises and Roddick or Murray could well step up this year.

Soderling @24 for me in the mens. His game is getting better and better and he is getting closer to Nadal and Fed. Lost a close match last year against Federer but has improved and I think he may go all the wya.

In the womens I can't decide between the two Belgians so I've taken both. Clijsters @12 and Henin @9.8. Don't think Serena will get past the quarter finals this year. Very tough quarter. Petkovic to shock her in the 2nd round.

Only after checking on this now and its very strange to see Federer struggling in his first game, I think he will still come through this though.

Overall as much as I'd like to see Nadal win this I think Solderling might be a surprise this year.

Federer in big trouble now, 2 sets down being totally outplayed by Falla. Hope Falla can beat him, be nice to see someone else win for a change.

The fawning of the commentators on Federer is disgusting.......

Federer clawed one back, 2-1, but Falla broke his first service and consolidates! 2-1 Falla in the 4th set, his service.

Gone are the days of rooting for the underdog over there. I remember the Nadal Federer classic final and the crowd and commentary was all so pro Federer it made me sick.

Very true. McEnroe is especially bad.

It's all in Falla's hands now anyway, unless he chokes.

And choke he did. 2 sets each now and Federer looking like the better player now

Great game. Falla playing well. Federer to come back and win it though.

Gutted about Falla. Federer didn't win that game, Falla lost it.

One to watch all the same though.

because he has played terrible this year and is at terrible odds to win it!
Actually i guess you meant your just going to support him and not bet on him, fair enough but id say he aint gonna do much, expect some 5 set scraps

Djokovic is in trouble, its gone to 5 sets ! But its 3-2 at the moment with two breaks on a row from Djokovic!

Late night finish at Wimbledon! They said this wouldn't happen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

Wimbledon is off to a smashing start, both Djokovic and Federer had to come from behind to win in 5 sets and womens French Open winner is out

Damn, I decided to go out with friends today and catch the highlights but as it turns out it was a pretty special first day! Heres hoping I can catch up on some replays.

It really was special! If you had a side in this match (big-time Fed-fan here:D), it was one of the best matches all year. The Best for me actually. Sorry to rub it in:o

Exciting start to Wimbledon this year, hopefully Nadal gets off to a good start today and goes on to win it.

I really feel its Soderlings year this time, I also really think Clisters for the ladies and have backed them both each way at a tasty 130/1 double!

Hugely intriguing match between Mahut and Isner,

Currently 19-19 in the deciding set!

the record I think is 24-22!

I think that it finished 2 sets all last night means they're fresher than normal..I'd say it'll easily break that.

    No sign of a break..

    24-24

    amazing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

Marathon match,28-27! Winner has to play tomorrow ...

Edit: The person they play tomorrow is also in a marathon with it being 15-14

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭LeeroyJones

When was the last proper rally!

Fatigue seems to be settling in, but for both to cancel it out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭LeeroyJones

    6X5=30

At 30-30 we've had a match that's gone the distance within this one set!

    Madness!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    34-34 now!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

Just when you think one has the upper hand the other one comes back

    Federer is at 1-1

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

You could nearly get an entire ladies' tournament in this one match...7 games, an hour each so far:D

    And they're due back tomorrow...

    7-6 6-7 7-6 6-7 8-6 would involve fewer games..

Now 39-39 you have to feel sorry for whoever eventually loses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭LeeroyJones

The real winner is de Bakker who's waiting for the winner,

although he had a 16-14 decider himself!

    42 all

Light must be fading at this stage.

Isner seems to look like a shadow of a man, but he's still plucking away!

    Fair play to them both!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

By the looks of this they could be here for a while yet

This is mental stuff!! 44-44! That De Bakker guy must be loving it! He will surely destroy whoever wins as they will barely be able to stand!

Best thing looking at schedule was that Isner was due to play Doubles this evening too :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭LeeroyJones

Spare a thought for those touchjudges!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Just the 87 aces for Isner now!

If he could do them in succession that's nearly 22 service matches won!
