Hi, its my first post, hoping for help. I am pretty desperate at this stage, am in my 30's and I suffer from vaginismus. It means I have never had successful intercourse despite always being in long term relationships. am getting married soon and really want to get help to get cured. I did go to a GP about this sround 15 years ago but was treated badly and never had the guts to go to anyone since. Am located in cork and the only place I have located online is a clinic in Dublin. Anyone be able to advise of someone who can help in Cork/Limerick or even anywhere in Munster?

Have a read of this TLL thread, hopefully it will be of some help. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055888204&highlight=vaginismus

I posted the link to that thread so that you don't feel too alone with this problem. There are loads of women out there with it and one of the worst things I found with it was that I felt like I was the only woman in Ireland with this! So that's the first thing - there are plenty of people with this problem.

I don't really know of anywhere outside of Dublin that can help. I went to the Well Woman in Dublin, perhaps there are Well Woman clinics outside of Dublin (can anyone else advise)?

I know it's the sort of thing that you feel you'll never get over, but honestly if you persevere you can and will get well.

I see your previous treatment was from over 15 years ago, well hopefully if you were to see a professional nowadays they would be more understanding.

If you need more info, let us know.

Thanks so much for your reply I really appreciate it. I have literally avoided dealing with it for so long that now I hope its not too late. I suddenly seem to have gotten broody as well so I need to at least try to get treatment. Am thinkng I might try a female GP and hope that they may now have experience of other woman that have been through this.
