    hello!

im 5"4, and i weight just under ten stone.... i used to be 8 1/2 but then this year i had the leaving cert and took that as an excuse to never exercise and eat whatever i want :/ which was a bad idea.
I'm going on holidays with my friends in three weeks and i want to feel more confident about myself, maybe be able to go to the beach and not worry about how i look. I know i wont be able to lose much in that time but im just trying to shape up a bit.
I started going for little jogs, about twenty minutes, last sunday and ive gone four times. When i get back from my jogs i do some sit ups and lift some cans of peas (in a sad attempt to get rid of my arm fat). ive also started watching what i eat obviously, less crap.

I'm just wondering if its enough to make a difference? or if theres anything else i can do to speed up the process? any advice would be sweet :)

    thanks

Honestly? What you're doing is not going to make a difference in 3 weeks.

In 3 weeks you could reasonably drop half a stone (or maybe more). It depends how badly you want it. The battle is won and lost in the kitchen.

So...I would say a couple of things to you:
Check out the stickies in this forum. There is a wealth of knowledge in there.
Can of peas = waste of time. Get something heavier.
You can't shift fat in specific areas of your body. If you want less fat on your arms you'll have to shift it from your body as a whole.
Try hard not to eat white things (bread, pasta, rice, biscuits, etc.) and replace them with veg (or to a lesser extent, fruit). If you manage to do this you'll start feeling good almost immediately.

Maybe post up what you ate yesterday (I mean *everything*) and we can point you more in the right direction.

    hmm yesterday...
I had two exams (still doing the leaving)
for breakfast i had cornflakes and a cup of tea :)
during the exam i had some soft mints
lunchtime i had some brown bread and butter, a few oven chips and more tea.
then when i got home i had toast (brown bread) and butter (dairygold)
then i went for a jog, and after that i had some grilled chicken, boiled potatoes and carrots and peas.
also drank water throughout the day esp. during exams!

    :)

Cut out the Bread, Potatoes and any starchy foods.
Drink your Tea without the milk, it will take a while but it will work.

You need to do Weights if you want to burn fat and tone,
there are plenty of sites that can help with routines etc.

Jogging is a good start but you won't get it all shifted in 3 weeks.

one big thing wrong with that diet is almost all carbs, very little protein (only the grilled chicken). Try having boiled or poached eggs for breakfast maybe? Lots of bread and chips etc in there. Try cut down on them a bit, replace them with something protein-y, chicken, ham, eggs, fish, nuts. Just balance it all a bit more!

Main thing would be not to worry about it and enjoy the holiday, you're after a fairly yuk time and deserve a stress free break. Try and not aim to change much over the next 3 weeks but adopt some lifestyle changes that will yield long term results.

I think that you should wait until your exams are over until you start making drastic changes to your diet to be honest.

Jeez, I thought your exams were over. Strongly agree with this! Good luck with the rest of your exams. :)

Don't really agree with this tbh. *Maybe* when you've cleaned up your diet a bit but in the mean time I wouldn't be sweating milk in your tea.
