Hi, im looking to take up yoga, to increase flexibility, and to see what all the fuss is about too. Does anyone know of classes in or near the Dublin 16 area.

Im 26 and male, should there be any kind of yoga id be looking for? DO many young blokes do yoga these days? or is still the preserve of middle aged women?

Dublin 16 is templogue, knocklyon area. I figure if i do yoga I'll be able to throw fireballs and levitate. I just dont want to be stuck with crowds of menopausal women

I'm also looking for a yoga class but city centre or northside (dublin) if possible; in particular I'd like an Ashtanga course but most seem to be finished for the summer, any ideas?

In regards to the gender question, there're are definitely more women doing yoga than men, but that DOESN'T mean it's for women. Yoga is for any one of any gender, age or fitness level :) don't be discouraged by one silly little fact.

Actually, come to think about it, there's an increasing number of rugby "lads" taking up yoga, so they can be in the game for longer. I think Ryan Giggs also did yoga as well (one of the reasons he's still with united)

there are a few places that do mens only yoga if you want, but none of which I think are in dublin16.

    Just a couple of questions:

I'd like to try Yoga. My problems are that A. I'm about three stone overweight, B. I have Spondylitis (in my spine). I am still fully mobile but my back is quite stiff. Would these preclude me?

Paul Bracken teaches in Dublin 16.

He is a really good teacher from what i hear and does a dynamic style of yoga that blokes will enjoy.

Check out www.yti.ie and his details should be there.

You will really enjoy it once you find a class that works for you.

Hi, thought I would just use this thread rather than starting a new one.

Does anyone know of any evening yoga classes in the Clondalkin (or Tallaght) area, my girlfriend is looking for one. There does not seem to be many on the yoga-ireland website.

    Thanks.
