    Hi all,

This is going to be one of my last posts, and I would like to inform you that we handed over €15,000 to Crumlin Children's Hospital. Its great to be able to hand over that amount of money to a charity and it a credit to all the students and staff that helped out through out the year and have lead us to this amount of money for charity. I get frustrated when people talk about the way students are "lazy" or "do nothing" their were 35 official events for RAG week, not to mention the amount of events that people shaved their heads waxed etc. well done DIT Students!!!

So thanks to all for your help, it is disappointing that we didn't break the €20,000 target, but this was down to the fact that the insurance in DIT suddenly change and totally leave us in the open at the last min. Best lade plans and all of that but it was a big factor and it was due to bring in around €6000 for charity. So all I can say is sorry to all of you for what happened but it really was out of our hands.

Myself and Tracey and Jen finish on the 30th of June and I would like to thank Tracey and Jen for all of their work this year. It hasn't been an easy year and we did work well together all year, so thanks girls. Good luck to the new team, Ciarain and team will do a good job for ye all. Its important to understand that the students union is YOUR UNION and EVERY STUDENT IN DIT SHOULD INPUT INTO THE UNION. Don't leave it up to someone in an office to input on your behalf, have your voice heard!!! You don't just get selected to be a member of the union, when you get your student card and reg as a student in DIT your automatically a member of the Union, so get involved and have fun with your union. Email the new team or text them or ring them but please tell them your issues they work you for you all, full time and part time students.

    Straight in unity.

So that's it I will pass on the fact that a lot of DIT students look at boards and you would be surprised what staff in DIT look at boards also so don't be afraid of posting. Thanks for a wonderful year and all of your support. Good luck with where ever the road takes ye!!!

    Regards,

    Sean Campbell.
