    Hi Lads,

I got a new samsung spica phone as my upgrade on 3 recently.
How (in the easiest way possible - in plain english!!) can i get a few apps on it?
I would like a couple of games and maybe a free map or location thingy (is that a technical term??) to have on it.
I already have a map app pre-loaded on it but it costs me every time i use it - i don't have an internet bundle included on my contract cause to be honest i really only use my phone for calls and texts but i would like a couple of extra bells and whistles on it.
Thanks for your help and if anyone wants to suggest a few good apps to download i would appreciate that also.
    Thanks again everyone.

I'd be very careful of that. Make sure you switch off the data network on the phone & use wifi to use any internet functionality.

TBH, Android may not be the best phone to get if you don't have a data bundle. Most apps would have some level of internet functionality & many work in the background...

Hey I have the i5700 too! Download APNdroid from the market. It allows you to turn the gprs/3g internet on and off for whenever it suits you.

GTFO. 'Thingy' is a perfectly acceptable placeholder word in informal English, and the OP made a light-hearted acknowledgement of that. 'i' instead of 'I' doesn't exactly affect the readability of the post. If all you have to do is scour threads for things to complain about, I don't think boards is the place for you.

OP, for games and other apps, use the "Market" app that should be pre-installed on your phone. As bluelemonade said, download APNDroid, allows you to turn off mobile data so it doesn't end up costing you a fortune. There are a couple of free location apps - MapDroyd, AndNav, Rmaps and Maps (-). The good ones (up to TomTom or Garmin standard) are paid though - CoPilot and Navigon probably the best of the lot

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.
