Ben Dunne's place in Lucan is 175eur a year. Good gym with all the resources you'd want.

    Lucan isn't in north dublin.
I would be fairly confidant that its also not too near the OP either.

    "or just across the liffey"

    Lucan is on the Liffey.

The OP has already replied to my suggestion but thanks for your nitpicking anyway.

I'm supprised there aren't more gyms with swipe cards used to enter them. Have you tried your local hotel OP? Hotel gyms might be available after hours etc.

Ha ha! No offence taken. The site is poor but there's a serious WTs section in there. Db to 50kg, Kettlebells, squat racks etc.

There are always the community gyms.
    Are you near Finglas?

Markievicz might be a bit under equipped, but you could go there PAYG to check it out.

Then there is a gym in Kilbarrack (behind the fire station I believe) which has I have heard a reasonable yearly rate, no joining fee, pay as you go option and apparently run by two guys who know their stuff and is well equipped.

    See second post http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055280151&page=34

    Might be worth checking out.

    Best Regards,

    M

Ballymun DCC gym is fairly well equipped. If you were going to go to northwood then this isn't too far away either. Not sure of the monthly or yearly price but its €7 PAYG.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 837 ✭✭✭denballs

thanks guys......i found one for now {that doesnt mean stop posting new gyms as im still not sure i like this one}..........its the markievicz on townsend street.....{south side near trinity college}.......55 euro a month ......pretty small but enough enquipped for me and its not packed so im happy about that....i was worried about people looking at me or talking to me.......{i can be an anti social bas-tad when im liftin.........luckily its mostly polish/russian in this place so not much talking goin on..........

I have a load of vouchers which I won in a race for entry to the pool in Ballymun however I cannot swim. Do you reckon I would be able to use the gym their instead?

Yeah went 2day to the markievicz on townsend street......went well.......nobody bothered me........was a bit annoyed that the jacks are through the shower and changin rooms..........theres a huge pool {i dont swim}.......about 10 threadmills ..... 7 bikes..........7 steppers...............not a great weight section {you can make do with it}......maybe 6 different machines in the weights area....a couple small benches..............

all together it,ll do me for a month but i think ill be switchin to a different one even if it costs more
