Medal of Honor - Beta - June 21st

So, the beta is starting next week and I will definately be getting this game.. It seems when you pre order you get a beta key.. All info on: www.medalofhonor.com but what if I aint going to pre order this as I will just pick it up in stores as I always do..

Will I still be fit to get into the beta? Anyone know where and when I can sign up for one by not pre ordering? As this is the usual case how I get into betas. Thanks in advance.

I've heard it's only available in the US,as most other betas.Typical,europe always gets shafted!!!

You can always cancel your pre-order. Of course you'll have to deal with the Gamestop or whoever's staff getting their pouty face on saying "B...b..but you pwomised,"

Try subscribing to PSN+, might get into the beta. Thats one of the things it offers ya.

Amazingly for one of the 1st times every we get Playstation Move 4 days before US and that... Amazing stuff I must say, that was probably the highlight of E3 tbh..

true.. but if they're ultratight then i'd have payed to be a tester! albeit a pre-order fee.. which is indeed a promise of sorts they could easily not refund. but then the game's likely to be bought i suppose.. :rolleyes:

Think we are getting it too. You can order it from amazon.co.uk and get a free beta key.

I'm sure I read somewhere that vip battlefield owners would get access to the MOH beta. I'll never understand this huge panic about getting into betas anyway

Yep that is true but I think you need to pre order..Maybe I am wrong though

Jioning the gun club or VIP Battlefied guys get in on the 17th or 19th domething like that. then the rest come in 21st.

Yeah - having VIP BC2 and preorder MOH is needed to get in on the 17th.
preorder MOH and you get in on the 21st

But to get either you need the beta code for MOH from whoever you preoder from, and have yet to see any EU PS3 ones.
Hoping I get mine for Friday so I can get to play this in earnest over the weekend.

Don't think amazon.co.uk is doing it for EU - read on another forum that only amazon.com is doing keys. But play.com and game.co.uk are definitely doing beta access.
EDIT - stand corrected. Amazon.co.uk are definitely doing beta access too.

Also, just to point out the beta only lasts until 18-July, so not too long.

Hi guys iv preordered Medal of honor from Game UK. I gave an address which i used as a student and have received my completed order email, no beta key yet though, was hoping with the VIP BFBC2 code i would have got access tomorrow but not looking like that now. Has anyone got more info about these keys? no info on Game UK apart from the offer.

all I've seen is some mention on EA forum that Game have stated they will give the keys out ahead of the 21st start - so expect them to start from the 18th
In same thread they mentioned Game giving preference to those that also preordered BFBC2 with them - not sure how true.

But basically gonna have to wait and see.

Not going to pre-order, feck that. Rubs my moral fibres the wrong way. BFBC2 VIP users should get a key without pre-ordering, this BS about having to do both is just plain silly.

It says its either or on EA's Gun Club i just signed up but i traded my Battlefield 2 without entering the VIP code :mad:

It won't let me log into the gun club, something about need an EA ID, which i have >_>

Yea i had to click forgot password. Got an email then to change it and was able to set up my EA ID from there it worked fine after that.

I thought it was an either or but im not so sure after reading it again, i think its if you have both you get in the 17th if you pre order MOH you get in the 21st.

Just so you folks know, you can pre-order in Game at no cost and you get the beta key. Got mine today.

I'm not sure about Game online - I think that's geared towards UK users. All the Game stores should have the beta code. There's a bucket load in Dundrum.

Anyhow, even though I have a code I can't manage to set up an account with EA to enter the code. The server must be packed.

FYI - redeem site is starting to recover and ppl are getting their codes.
It's a 617MB download - but is very slow.

It's not the first game to offer beta access for a pre-order. I may have a spare code by the end of the weekend if any of my online pre-orders produce a code. Maybe giving you a code may ease yer disappointment :P Trying to get a code for a buddy too though, so if I get three I'll give ya one.

and beards? It did look very Battlefield to me from the footage I saw from E3. Considering I'm having a frustrating time with Battlefield lately I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy this beta :P

There's no vehicles though right? So is it basically Battlefield but without the things that make it unique, and added in the generic things from MW2?

It's not a patch on Battlefield although it looks and plays a lot like it .

Not to impressed with it so far and my PS3 locked up four times when playing it and my Sons PS3 locked up about five times in the space of one hour today , plus the knife on R3 is doing my fu*king head in even more than MW2:mad: .

i sure didn't expect the MOH Redux to be a BC2 spinoff. at least they gave early notice with the beta, no drawn out expectations



edit: i looked at a beta vid, saw a manned tank at least.. the sounds, the sights still appealing but man a BC clone? wtf

yeah not sure about vehicles, but if there is it's basically just more maps for Battlefield, but I think I remember them saying tactical destruction so probably more like the destructability from BC1 rather than the full destruction from 2 which is a step back if anything.

Sounds like an old school EA move too back when they were the old evil corporation before Activision overtook them.

Its the very same. You start off and you choose from 3 classes. Assault, engineer, sniper. You spawn the same and have the grenade launcher same buttons etc . There is vehicles i got into a tank but they are more limited and the maps seem tighter.

Now it is good, more fun than battlefield but still for a so called "new game" it is disappointing

Right it's a glitch.You sing up to get the command and conquor one that's on the link I gave you.Then they give you a code and you put it into the MOH site.It worksI've it downloaded just there but the beta now is only available now for vip members so we have to wait till monday to try it out.Great timing I suppose since that's the day my leaving cert is over!!!:D

The Open Beta is open to all GameSpot members worldwide. In order to manage the open beta server load, we will continue to release more keys the week of 2/1. All keys will be distributed in the order of users who have signed up on the waitlist.

Got my code there earlier, ahd fierce problems logging into the site to redeem it though. Managed to log in there eventually. Just had a few games. Initial impression is that it's MW2 running in the Battlefield engine. It's like a stripped down version of Battlefield really. Fewer classes, fewer vehicles, less destruction. All a bit meh. A lot of the time it feels like they've made changes just to make it different from Bad Company 2, not because changes need to be made. It's a slightly better version of MW2 for me anyway. The kind of multiplayer I play for a fair bit for a few weeks after the release of the game and never go back to again.

Had another go and i can over look the poor hit boxes, the uneven weapons and other glitches as this is what the beta is all about figuring out.

But i cant get over how this seems to be a cheap skate, way out for EA this is basically diet battlefield 2.

The funny thing is you needed BFBC2 to get into the beta early but if you have BFBC you already have a better game to compare it to.
