There doesnt seem to be any ticks left on Ticketmaster, so it must be?

Limited amount of tickets left. I wouldn't say cans of alcohol will be allowed to be brought into the ground.

Normal ODI ground regulations say that no alcohol can be brought into the ground at all. My previous experience has been that sometimes a small amount can be - I've brought in a bottle of wine, for instance. Arriving with a slab of tinnies would probably not work!

Ha yeah I thought so, the idea of watching a good day of cricket appeals to me once I dont have to spend €6 on a pint,

As its a day long event, is possible to leave for an hour and come back do you know?

Prices in Tarf are normally considerably cheaper than that, although I don't know what arrangements have been made for Thursday in that area.

You should be ok to pop in & out occasionally.

There's nowhere specific, but up along the Howth Rd or down by the seafront might be the best. Parking on the side-streets will probably be restricted. If you can at all, public transport would be best.

Stiles Road and then down the lane to the club. Don't block any driveways though.

Bought my tickets online ages ago. Got a mail with all the extra rules and regulations there a while back.

No alcohol can be brought in and there will be no re-admission.

I'll be interested to see what the arrangements with beer tents are. Usually when you have a captive audience its the cue for vastly over pricing everything.

Luckily I'll be there extra early because I'm photographing the game. These people need to keep their secrets to themselves :P Shots from Croke Park yesterday are up on my site and tomorrows training sessions will be there too. Obviously Thursdays game will be up on it as it happens.

Prices up at Stormont were fine, don't think they'll go mad with the prices.

Apparently the only booze you can bring in is.........a box of wine, not a case mind you but the boxes with the polybags inside. Not sure how they'd treat Plastic Bottles of, for example, Havana Club 3 year old mixed with Coke but we'll see. Must put Electric Picnic booze sneaking hat on....

    Gutted I couldn't make it.

In addition, given Ponto's comments on the ICC, the quality side the brought and the fact that they are taking this quite seriously, I take back everything negative I have said about the Aussies.

Well to be fair there that Stumping was a bit harsh, he could have been back,

    I won't complain anyways :D...

91-3 from 14 overs now. Niall O'Brien and Alex Cusack batting now. We really need to steady the ship for the next few overs

Has anyone found an online stream showing the game ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

we have settled down nicely. bookies have it pretty even but we have to be ahead 7 wickets left chasing 3.6 rpo

massive rankings boost if we pull this off. hell id settle for a rained out DL win.

    **starts a rain dance**

150-7 now looks like we've caved in. Hard to see the last few doing enough to get us home.

171-9 seems like only a matter of time until it ends.

All over a 40 run defeat. Good effort but another one thats slipped away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,025 ✭✭✭d'Oracle

I think thats a bit cruel.
It was a great chance, but the Aussies picked up their bowling big time around 3:30.

Fair enough I wasn't at the match but at 76-0 after 10 overs you'd expect us to at least bring it down to the wire. Obviously they are in a different class to us but we put ourselves in with a great chance yet were taken apart when it really mattered. The Aussies were always going to up a gear when they sensed danger but the fact that no-one in the middle order could stem the tide is very dissapointing. Only a late flurry from John Mooney prevented it from being a very comprehensive beating.
Its just dissapointing following on from the England game in Belfast last year where we had it in our grasp.

I think the team did very well, it was just unfortunate that the batting didn't follow up the great work in the 1st innings! They were playing the best (ODI) team in the world!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,237 ✭✭✭✭djimi

I really thought that we were going to pull that off, even at the end the way Mooney was batting and doing a great job of protecting Rankin I had a sliver of hope! Shame really. The wickets that fell once Sterling went were the real killer, coupled with Hopes and Hauritz turning the screw in the middle overs. I would have liked to see us being a bit more positive against Hauritz, but I believe he was getting a lot more turn than I had realised from where I was sitting.

I thought we bowled and fielded very well. Australia were pretty lame with the bat but I thought we made life very hard for them, and gave them nothing in the field. Wilsons stumping was excellent as well.

I have to say tho, those opening ten overs where Porterfield and Sterling were laying into them was one of the best experiences I have ever had at any live game! To see our boys destroying the Aussies like that was awesome beyond words!
