because a lot of men are insecure and take their girlfriends talking to other men and having a laugh as flirting

You could turn your question on it's head and ask why do some guys with girlfriends cheat.

Which brings us back to your em..post.

It's probably more of a case of (lonely) guys thinking any girl who even talks to them is MAD INTO THEM.

Because the guys arent enough for the partners in question? If anyone, male female or other is takin the píss then odds on that you're wrapping up said píss in wrapping paper, a nice bow and a card and handing it to them.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

It's the chase, challenge etc. They want to know they are still attractive.

It's called flirting, sometimes. Other times, being a tease, slut etc.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

    Because they like it.

Because a lot of women like to know that they are still attractive to the opposite sex even if they are in a committed relationship. They flirt knowing that they are risking nothing because if their flirtation is not returned they still have a partner and if it is it will lead to nothing except an ego boost for them through knowing another man was interested. By and large they do not want to actually have anything happen with the person they are flirting with (although some may).

Note: The above is based on the assumption that the woman in question was actually flirting with you and not just being nice and friendly which can often be mistaken by people who do not receive much attention from the opposite sex.

    This is your question OP.

When you become someones girlfriend you stay the same person you were before hand.

I mean it must be obvious to someone who has got to know a girl enough to ask her out that they would know her personality?

Maybe it was their flirting got them asked out in the first place.

    Another nature vs. nurture debate?

I think some girls who flirt in front of the boyfriends do it to inspire jealousy and because they like the attention that a pissed-off boyfriend gives them.

Also because getting some poor guys hopes up that they're in with a chance gives them a bit of a power trip.

Or she was just chatting about the weather and not flirting at all.

I've been flirted with quite a few times by girlfriends or partners of friends of mine or friends of a friend. On one occasion, at a wedding, one bird wanted me to slip off to the room in the hotel that she was sharing with her boyfriend, for a quickie

On another occasion, on a night out, a friend's wife described to me in detail how she used to imagine that I was giving her a good riding every time she used her "rampant rabbit". She then offered to blow me in the jacks.

So, as I said before, it's because they LOVE THE COCK!

this happens quite a lot....its definitely one of the differences between the sexes. i don't know why they do it but it does appear to be some sort of ego boost. i'm not saying every female does it but it does appear to be quite common. usually the flirty female has no intention of being with the lad she's flirting with.

some men do it a bit but not to the same extent.....i think the reason for this is because if they did, i think they would find it a lot harder to resist temptation if a girl returned interest in them...it's kinda playing with fire! i don't think we have as much self-control!

they like to be pursued/wanted, they do it to make themselves feel better?

I'm sure the OP means his gf was talking to another guy, which of course is flirting:rolleyes:

Having been on the opposite side of this I think you're onto a winner. The amount of times my OH has had fellas following her around, trying it on etc is hilarious. I've lost count of the amount of times I have heard 'she's with me bud' or some such crap from a drunken moron trying it on with the mrs is laughable.

You saying hello, and her saying hello back =/= her flirting with you/wanting you/trying it on with you..

What type of "attention" that a girl pays a guy do you consider as just being "friendly" exactly?

    Out of interest.

Women in relationships tend to be nicer to single guys than single women.
