Treadmill Repair - Help

I'll keep it brief as I can.

Have a York treadmill. I maintain it and keep in proper order. A while ago I had a problem with the belt being a bit loose so I got the instruction manual out and went through the procedure as stated.

It worked and everything was fine then after a bit the belt came loose again. I repeated the procedure but the period in between the belt coming loose began to shorten.

I also noticed it would not become as tense on the left hand side as the right when I was tightening it.

Had to tighten the belt again today. Now it won't run straight at all. When its switched on it immediately runs off to the left and off its rollers.

If anyone could offer some advice or whatever as to what to do/what the problem might be I'd be greatful. I'd rather not have to start shelling out for someone to come out and fix it
