Can't decide the best result for Englerland and "USA! USA! USA!", 0-0 draw? Or a decent win for one.

I want a draw as I want the yanks to get 2nd place.

Both of these sides need a win otherwise they are probably packing their bags.

So hopefully we will have an open, end to end game.

I think Slovenia might nick this 1-0 with Novakovic to score.

Hope it's high scoring. No match has had more than 2 goals yet.

Wow, look at the crowd (or lack of one).

    I think Slovenia 2-1

Another half empty stadium. I thought nearly all the games were sold out?

Lol at the crowd. Stadium not even half full. Surely they could have given the tickets away to the locals.

Bougherra has been linked with Barca several times this season.

Interesting to see how he does on the big stage.

Good free, not a bad save.

Yeah, i've got money on him as first goalscorer. The Algerian keeper is extremely dodgy when coming for crosses and Novakovic's height could trouble him, especially from set pieces!!

Draw has to be the best result for England and USA. I fancy one of these teams to take points off USA at least and possibly England too.

Buffon rates him as the best keeper in ITALY ( apart from him ;) )

Draw would be a good result here.

Was pretty surprised to hear Slovenia only have a population of 2m people.

Oh god no, please not another draw!

I have a feeling both these will be easy pickings for England.

    Pretty poor fare.

Very hard to see England and USA not qualifying from this group.

Worst consecutive 35 minutes of football in the tournament thus far by some margin. And that's saying something.

cant see much of a difference between this and the Usa England Game. only difference is these are trying to play the ball and not hoofing it up the field like england were.

Clarence Seedorf - awesome. Love listening to him speak, he sounds like a very powerful Bond villain.

    First half was very poor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Poor half. Slovenia look a very limited team. They have a straightforward shape to them, but don't have much talent to really implement anything positive. A goal seems more likely from a long range effort or a set piece rather than any good piece of play

Algeria's best play is coming down the left from Belhadj getting forward and Ziani putting balls into the box.

This, surely, will end nil all. England will be feeling slightly better after watching that half and USA will be even more happy with their point.

Great half-time analysis on BBC - not a mention of the two teams playing - all about last night's England game, interviews from the England camp and a travel report from a township in South Africa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,027 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Pretty poor half although the last few minutes in it weren't too bad.First 35 minutes were shocking though, worse than the French game.

They did talk about the match for a few minutes, but tbf, as much as I don't like their analysis, they really had nothing to talk about in that match.

Yawn fest. Should've given this game to the Apres Match boys.

Mentioning how 'we' would be a better team than these two, even though we never beat the likes of Egypt and Russia!

    Should have scored.

The commentators expressed disappointment that Ireland aren't at the World Cup while watching two of the worst teams in the Cup playing out a poor match. Now the commentators have been labelled by some as embarrassing, pathetic, bitter individuals.

    Bougherra with a great tackle.

    Slovenia ftw!

Fair enough saying Ireland are better than NZ or North Korea maybe...but Slovenia qualified from Europe, beating Russia on the way and finishing ahead of Croatia in the group.

Hope Slovenia or Algeria beat USA :pac:

Anyone see the mad algerian fan standing on top of one of the flood lights, and a few policemen waiting for him at the bottom of it, the outcome of that could be more interesting that the actual game lol

5live has a wimmin commentator. I doubt she'll suddenly squeal as a goal is scored though. Oh well.
