Anyone see any cheating?

Just saw a thread in the Leaving Cert. forum about cheating. Personally, I would not even contemplate cheating in the Junior Cert., even though I could.. i.e. I can see into other people's papers. I literally just keep my eyes straight on my own work and would be too afraid to attempt it even though I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get caught.

Even though I don't cheat, and haven't seen anyone in my centre doing so, has anyone else? Anyone caught? Did the Superintendent just tell them not to do it again for fear of losing their jobs?

    Ed.

That sounds fairly serious to me. Don't you know the person? What did other people think?

personally i would never contemplate cheating..
i think it would be easier for me to cheat in my exam centre then in the toilets cause theres a person that goes in with ya i think.
my superintendents are usually just sittin up the front workin and i could easily just pull out some notes from my pocket, write it down, and slip it back in without anyone being the wiser!

One of my friends was writing poem quotes on her ruler before paper 2 and we all told her to "cop the fcuk on,what's the point of cheating in the JC,if you get caught you could be fcuked" she didn't cheat in english anyway.

Walked in to Irish the next morning to see her peeking at something on the ruler again, all I could do was facepalm.
Even though I won't get all A's in this I honestly couldn't care less, not enough to cheat and get feckin banned for a few years anyway.

You've got to admit though, its alot easier to cheat than I think we all thought it to be. My centre's door isn't locked, we're in their an hour before the exam, you could be writing stuff on the tables or anything.....
    Sounds like a plan :p

The examiner fella just sits at the desk too

No. AS long as you did not have them written before the exam you should be fine.

I have not seen anyone do it. I just know the usual tricks. Like writing on the inside of the label of the water bottle, so when you drink you can read it. Also recording a good essay on an ipod, put it and the head-phones up your sleeve and into your ear. So their coved by your hair (for girls or boys with long hair)

Once a cheater, always a cheater.
    So don't cheat guys! ;)

I seen a few people mouthing answers over at each other, but our supervisor was too busy eating biscuits to notice haha!
I'd never cheat in a state exam, it's way to risky. Plus I wouldn't feel good about it anyway, at least if I failed I know I would've tried :)

One of our teachers said that if we get caught we won't be allowed into state exams for 5 years, that includes L.C., college exams and stuff, even Driving License tests
I think he exaggerated a bit but its still serious nonetheless.

ya or if you have the ipod going up your jumper through your sleeve and have the earpiece in your hand nd put your head against your hand. :p
But its pure stupid risking it for an extra 5 -10%

its way too easy to cheat in j.c ! all the exam aides outside the door are from 4th year in my school and so most people are good enough friends with them and just ask them all the questions when they go to the toilet. one girl in my year arranged a time to meet another girl in the toilet and they told each other all the answers during french. like i said way too easy......

Doesn't the supervisor go in the toilet as well?

I think that the SEC have done a great job on making it harder to cheat this year.
I don't see anybody cheating in my center, the SEC have done a great job and I'm pretty sure there a bunch of really cool people!
Also, newspaper journalists rock the socks also!

Nobody was cheating in my centre. Its because our school had hyped it up to be extremely risky, when in reality it would be easy to cheat. I'd never cheat, though, but that said the opportunities are definitely there. Especially when you have a friendly supervisor that is more likely to just give you a warning than to report the cheater. In our school, the person outside the door escorts you to the toilet, and she doesn't even come in all the way, because I'm a guy going into the guys toilets! There's only one guy in our room that actually used the toilet a lot, perhaps he was cheating..

Girl in my class hid flash cards in her skirt for Buissness. The thing is that she hated the subject and won't be doing it after the J.C., so I don't understand why she was so desperate to do good in it and risk a ban from state exams..
