They've just got the micro sd 32gb back in stock too. With the 20% off it comes to about £72. By far the cheapest you'll get it anywhere.

Feck it, don't even have a phone to put the card in yet but I ordered one.

Ahhh... it was an SDHC card.

I've had problems with SDHC cards in these types of gadgets, so I'd rather not risk it.

I still have an 4GB SDHC lying about that I got free with Vodafone Mobile Broadband (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055711093) if it'll take it - but if not, I'll have a backup.

I'm confused, does it have a 1tb drive in it, or it can take up to a 1tb? i.e no hard drive present.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭sk282

I also thought it included the drive for a moment but it does not:

    In the box:
    - LaCinema Classic Bridge (internal disk not included)
    - External power supply
    - Cables: HDMI; Video composite and stereo; USB
    - Remote control and 2 x AAA batteries
    - Quick Install Guide
    - CD with User Manual and LaCie
    - Forrmatter Utility for Windows

Their item descriptions are a bit misleading at times, I was looking at a USB hub where it said it was PS3 compatible on the title but then the opposite under more info...

While checking out by credit card, MyMemory redirected to SagePay for credit card processing, and forwarded my address so it appeared on their website as well.

Is SagePay a reputable/established payment processor? Or am I better off using PayPal?

I've just bought an upgrade for my USB key that currently has a 2GB microSDHC card. It's one of these:

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11294

I picked up a Kingston 8GB microSD class 4 to use with it:

    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Micro-SDHC/Kingston/Kingston-8GB-Micro-SD-%28SDHC%29-Card---Class-4

Class 4 will give a minimum of 4MB/s transfer speed. The existing 2GB card will go into my phone :-)

This is over now but just to warn people they ship from jersey so you are liable for VAT above €22.

doh! did not know that - well hopefully customs will see the tiny size of my package (not an analogy :D) and ignore it as something the size of my little fingernail cannot possibly cost > €22 ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,386 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

They declare the value on the outside of the packet, it is in a tiny font though, and they do split the "free" postage so the declaration is about £2 less.

I have ordered about 50 times from them and have never been hit, though I usually get it sent to work and I figure they might think it is for work use. I think they also do mark it as a gift (naughty boys) which is supposed to raise the VAT point to above €45.

There is no charge on postage so if buying a few items it is best to do so separately

Anyone know if amazon.co.uk is the same about VAT? As luckily I checked amazon before ordering, as most of the stuff on mymemory is cheaper on amazon even after the 20% off.

amazon.co.uk will ship from the UK, unless it is a third party company on amazon. Amazon.com will ship from the US.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭fdevine

Safe with amazon, who either ship from the UK, or occasionally Ireland as they have a warehouse in Coolock. Stuff sometimes comes from mainland Europe but either way there is no VAT issue.

BTW: Never been done for VAT/excise on any shipment from the Channel Islands, be it play/sendit/7dayshop/mymemory/blah or whoever and that includes high value items.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

I haven't received anything yet. it sucks if I have to wait until next week. this is why I only use amazon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,266 ✭✭✭00sully

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

    STILL no memory card!!!!!

This is really annoying me because I ordered the key fob the day before hand from China and it arrived today.
Once this comes Mymemory can go F itself if they are expecting any future orders from me!!!

Just got a text saying my headphones came.

I think ill stick with amazon, 1 week delivery time is fine but if you can get better elsewhere then why settle for less?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

Looks like the 32gb Micro SD cards are the ones not being delivere judging by the above comments.

Is the stuff being delivered by An Post or some courier crowd ? Got no tracking details with my order so assuming it's regular post. Was expecting to have expected it by now as well.

Also waiting on my 32gb micro sd card. However I'm still waiting to get my HTC Desire from Meteor so I don't really care about the card taking a long time.

Ordered an 8Gb CF card last weekend. Got an email on Monday afternoon (the 14th) confirming dispatch. Still no sign of the card. Will wait for the post at home this evening before contacting them. Any chance they are shipping from outside the UK (through a third party in Hong Knog etc)???

They are shipped from Jersey. The only reason i can think of for a delay would be a customs check. But theyre usually swift and notify you within a day.
