Just had my first piano lesson the other day and I'm a bit confused about the finguring for the on 4 octave scales in C.

I can do 2 octaves as below but I don't know how to transition into the 3rd/4th...
LH:
54321 321 4321 321
cdefg abc defg abc

RH:
123 1234 123 12345
cde fgab cde fgabc

Now when I try to change to the third octive I'm not sure how it goes, should I go back to 5? I don't wana go back into the teacher having only learned half of what I was given :P

For right hand each group of CDE is 123 and each group of FGAB is 1234 no matter how many octaves you're doing, so just use 5 on the final top C. For left hand the fingering is always 4321 for DEFG (with 5th on the first C) and 321 for ABC. So four octaves would look something like this...

123 1234 123 1234 123 1234 123 12345

CDEFGAB CDEFGAB CDEFGAB CDEFGABC

54321 321 4321 321 4321 321 4321 321

Hope that makes sense. :D
