What's this about people receiving results a week and a half early? Is that just masters courses or

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 902 ✭✭✭Cows Go µ

Everyone gets their results at different times, they are listed here http://www.ucc.ie/en/exams/results/result-dates/

A few courses get them a little early, its the 17th for me. So close and yet so far. Not sure if I really want them or not

He was in 4th year chemistry, they got theirs over the last two days, they havent received the exact results yet not until the 18th, but the lecturers told them their overall mark...

Got three of my PE modules back with provisional results, first class honours in them :D

End of the month for the rest of them, though there could be more of our feedback sheets sent out :D

Well done to those you have got on well so far!

I certainly hope that as a final year student, my lecturers will be a little more generous this year with the marking. Getting my results Thursday also, I am so nervous!

    Congrats Eliot :)

Mine aren't out until the 23rd...you'd think final year results would be out sooner :(

I was sure I had failed a few, but somehow managed to pass by compensation! w00t!

My results were still pretty poor (only barely passed a few modules I thought I did well in :( ) but still; a pass is a pass! Really happy right now. :D

    On to final year....

Ok I've just been told these are provisional?! When do we get the actual results? Could grades go down? O.o

Subject to board approval I assume. I wouldn't worry about it. They don't tend to bring grades down, it's just a formality really.

Just got the results from my exams a day early. Which is great stuff, as now I don't have to spend all night worrying about what it might have been. So I am now qualified, kind of, I'm a graduand for the next few months.

Got a 2.1, ****ing delighted. Will soon have B.Comm after my name.

So if anyone here is supposed to be getting their Commerce results, it's worth checking them now, as they might be out. They are at least out for final years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 153 ✭✭pirateninja

Got my exam results today a day early too. Thought I'd failed but managed to scrape a pass by compensation! Not delighted with th e results but at least there's no repeats for me!

Just got myself a 2nd class honours degree in BIS........BOOM :D

Exams didn't go well for me but got a 2.2, bit disapointed about that but sure, first time not having to go back in August - How bad :)

What do people do in August when they're not studying - haven't had one off in 5years :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

Got two History MA essays back today, a pair of ****ing 2.1s. I wasn't aware these feckers can mark you down a grade for grammatical errors, I mean they were ****ing everywhere but nonetheless...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,627 ✭✭✭Fol20

    Got mine today:(:(

Failed in 3.In 2 five credit modules i got 35 and in a 10 cred i got 37.If only i got the extra 3 in the 10 cred one,i would have passed through compensation:(:(.

A 2.1 isn't a bad mark man tbf could be worse like!

Passed everything and got a H1 in the process, but I am just happy that I passed the almost impenetrable Signals and Systems, even if I did just pass it by 3% :D

I've to wait till Friday, know four module results, have an idea for two others, no idea for the final two, and just hope I pass my four maths ones! Most nervous about those maths ones tbh!

2.1 is average in my module, as far as I can see.

Mine were supposed to be out tomorrow but I got them this afternoon. Got a 2H1 degree overall, which is what I needed for the few Engineering Masters courses I'm looking at.

Roll on Graduation in September! :D

Ah the good ol' Signals and Systems! I remember half my class having to repeat that in August back when I did it. Got a 2.2 or so in it from what I remember myself.

I'm not trying to sound like mr. motivator or anything - unless you want to get the marks revised then there's no point crying over spilt milk - got a 2.2 degree yesterday, spent the day half happy I was finished, half píssed I didn't get a better break of the ball in the exams - they didn't go smoothly atall.

In the end I figured Fúck it I can still go on to do what I want in the next few years.

Keep the head up is all I'm sayin - a mark never made anybody :)

It's a horrible test alright. Having the book and all your notes with you in test really didn't help. I even when in with solutions to past exams, but it was just a sneaky test. Delighted that I don't have to repeat it now.

Do check. My last two exam years, they were up early!

Mine were up a day early last year

I've been checking every day since Saturday:o

I have four back, thought a fifth one would be up on blackboard, since the other one with that lecturer is, but no!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭catiny

the year below me had there exam results yesterday and mine still aren't out! stress!!!

what time roughly do they come out?
I know it says 4.30pm but generally they are out a tad earlier than that!! yeah i'm that anxious!

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Regional South Moderators Posts: 15,247 Mod ✭✭✭✭rebel girl 15

Check them! I checked before midday, and then just after. Mine are up now, weren't supposed to be up till tomorrow - passed everything!! I think I passed two maths modules by compensation, got 40 in both, surprised with one got 78!!

Doing out the sums, if I was judged on PE solely, I'd have 1.1, but overall 2.1, three percent off a 1.1 :D Plenty of work to be done on the maths next year, but happy about all the PE ones, lot of long nights went into some of those modules

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,134 ✭✭✭x in the city

how does one work out grades 1:1 2:1 2:2...?

I got 833/1200 and wonder what that is..?!

    thanks.:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,533 ✭✭✭Zonda999

    Thats a 2.1 i believe, 840/1200 is a 1.1, you were very close! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

What does 'results withheld' mean exactly? Are they in the process of updating?

ding...! that was close, they are preliminary results, so they might change. for the better hopefully!

If I do a masters, does that mean I cant get a distinction?, I mean its marked out of 1800 not 1200.

the rest of the marks are for the thesis obviously.
