Hi, im training for a marathon at the moment, my biggest problem during endurance training is trying to keep weight on so as not to look like a skeleton running around in nike shorts. Anyone any reccomendations for supplements to help?
I have used Recovermax in the past and found it great for training but i really need something to help with weight as well now.

    Food wise -

Nuts nuts nits. All to easy to pack down and chocoblock full of calories - 100gms a da is too easy too eat and around 600 calories.

An extra litre of milk is 600 calories

Eat lots of peanut butter which is packed with lots of goof calories again.

Yep, nuts and milk will help.

I'd have a look around www.crossfitendurance.com and see if there's any hints on there.

    Hi,
really sorry for jumping in on your thread but this is the exact question I've been wondering about and checking boards for over the last few weeks! I've started training for my first marathon (the Dublin one in Oct) and I don't want to lose weight and get that gaunt skeleton look either. From what I've read the emphasis should be on protein and carbs, any suggestions for the best/quickest snacks etc for this? stuff you could fill up on over the day rather than in just one big meal?
A friend has suggested taking whey protein, the powder stuff you mix with a drink, I'd prefer to just try and get all I need naturally from food before trying one of those, I presume that's what Recovermax is?

Just to add - dried fruit too. Great fueller for the runs as your training goes on and lots of calories and carbs.

Is there really that many calories in dried fruit??

100gms has about 250cals and imo it is really easy to eat 100gms of dates or figs etc -

Maybe stick to anything unsalted and not roasted. Brazil nuts are pretty calorie dense and pecans too but nearly all nuts will have more than 500 cals per 100gms, brazils is closer to 650 per 100gms

Eat more food, then again the more weight you lose the easier your run will be.
