I've never used them and this is the first time that i've heard of them but they look good! I have the same problem re grip...

Have you tried using straps, I find they help a lot

I tried straps but my wrists hurt for days after, never again.

Yeah they can leave a few marks if you're really pushing it...

Those hooks are not expensive so just go for it and see how you get on

Never liked hooks at all. You'd be better off working on your grip strength instead of avoiding the underlying issue with gadgets

That's a fair point... how do you build up grip? Forearm work?

In the meantime I think straps are good as it means I can get a better back workout in..

Start deadlifting , you'll notice the difference in no time

I think my grip strength is fine, its just that my fingers begin to hurt and I have to let go of the bar.

2 x Bodyweight is the bench mark for a decent lift in the deadlift
1 x Bodyweight in the bench
1.5 x Bodyweight in the Squat

Above is pretty accurate although an important caveat would be height, you should be expecting more in the deadlift and squat (against bodyweight) if your shorter than average and vice versa if your taller
