New Burn Notice thread for season 4 (split from the other thread)

Great start to the season and takes things in an interesting new direction. Robert Wisdom is a cool addition to the cast. I wonder if
the guy at the end will be recruited into the team?

OK start to the season although I get the impression they had to change the direction of the plot they had in mind at the end of the last season. The story arc seemed to shift a few times.

I know they need to keep people interested and avoid repetition, but I've never really enjoyed the season arcs, preferring the Client of the week focus instead.

Also did Michael Ironside need money or owe someone a favour?
why otherwise would he have been listed as guest star but have only a few seconds screen time before he was killed?

^ same scenario i thought with Danny Glover in the pilot of Human target....only there for a few seconds at the end!

Jon Seda will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Burn Notice. The Pacific star, 39, will step into the role of Cole, a malcontent former Marine now working as a killer for hire.
Burn Notice's Season 4 premiere snagged 6.61 million viewers last week.

Liked the new episodes and think the story it has taken should be great.

The next episode should give us an idea on how jesse will fit into the rest of the season!

I wonder if he will help them on all of there little side missions!!

So what do people think about the the new season so far.

I'm not too keen on Jesse and dont get why Fiona would side with him over Michael

Burt Reynolds guest-stars in Thursday's episode as Paul Anderson, a retired spy whose work during the Cold War comes back to haunt him in the form of a Russian special-ops team of assassins. While Michael protects Paul, Fiona has to destroy some evidence to keep Jesse from discovering that Michael burned him.

    http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/07/22/burn-notice-comic-con/
At Comic-Con’s Burn Notice panel, USA’s Jeff Wachtel announced the network has greenlit a Burn Notice prequel movie starring fan favorite Bruce Campbell. But don’t expect to see Sam Axe making a starring turn on a weekly basis — the network insisted the prequel will an original movie that hones in on Axe’s past in the military.

That was a great episode! Burt Reynolds was a fantastic guest star. Sam had some class lines too :). Cracking the safe with the speakers was pretty cool. The Russian team were decent but because Michael knew their tactics it made it all too easy. There will be more Russians maybe now that they know Michael Westen is in Miami.

Fiona has some serious issues with keeping the truth from Jesse. I doubt that she'll do it for much longer. Jesse is eventually going to find out for himself anyway.

yes he certainly was, but he looks totally fcuked health wise. wouldn't be surprised if he croaked in the next 12 months, he didn't look well at all. would be a real shame too, he was a legend in the 80's. :)

Another great episode! Interesting to see how this all pans out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Most recent episode was very good... interesting to see the plan starting to come together. Fiona has made her choice and sticks with Michael over Jesse which I'm not surprised about - and Michael thinks he can get Jesse his job back once this is all done.
Will Jesse go back and be an asset inside the CIA for the team, or will he decide he enjoys his new life too much?

It's also going to be very interesting to see how this Vaughn thing plays out... he says he's trying to protect Michael from Simon and the instinct is not to believe him, but will he actually be on side?

Only 3 or 4 episodes left this season ( I think it's 3 ) so things are going to start coming together much more quickly now I think.

I liked the character Cole and his story in the latest episode but still not liking Jesse and now he has a thing for Fiona

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭The Don

Things are really starting to heat up now. Good to see Simon back. He really does have only one purpose, getting Vaughn and Management. The new business man John Barrett that he told Michael is after his bible is a good addition to the story. Someone with the same amount of influence as Vaughn's company. Michael will try and get as much information on him as possible to see he's as bad as everyone is making out.

So now there are 2 powerful groups, both with bad intentions. They may introduce another group that is trying to do the right thing in the next season but until then Michael will have to thread carefully.

Good side story too. Michael knew a lot about how things work in prison. The plan should always have been to break Cruz out though. I lolled seeing Bruce Campbell digging another grave :D

Loved Fiona in the last episode telling Michael to skip the spiel :D

Most recent episode was good - pretty much typical Burn Notice faire... then the end. What a twist.
Jesse find out that Michael burned him and that everyone has been helping him cover it up... now Jesse is out for revenge!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,028 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

    Summer Finale next week
Fiona attempts to find Jesse and convince him to meet with Michael. Meanwhile, Michael helps a criminal defense attorney rescue his daughter after she is kidnapped by one of his clients.
Robert Patrick guest stars in the Burn Notice Summer Finale, "Guilty As Charged,"

Show returns November 11 after summer finale!

Next weeks episode is going to be great, After watching this weeks there is no doubt there is going to be some drama next week.
I wonder if they will be able to convince jesse they were trying to do the right thing, Also they really had no intention of getting him burned. Although trying to cover it up doesn't help, Jesse did go to them for help! What were they going to do, Tell him they burned him!!

I have a feeling that everything is going to work out ok in the end... eg Jesse is going to understand why Michael burned him and help them out.
    Perhaps a permanent new character?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭The Don

Wow what an ending. That was a great twist. Jesse will want revenge on Michael but I don't know how far he will go. With Barrett in town now its going to make a great Summer Finale.

The rest of the episode was the usual stuff. Chuck Finley is a great character but we've seen in previous episodes that con artists are weary of new people coming into their lives and things going wrong. He should have been more suspicious of Chuck.

Can't wait for the Finale but I'm not looking forward to the wait until November.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Great finale. I'm surprised they did a 'case of the week' story with everything that was happening, but they fit everything in. Decent cliffhanger too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Yeah, pretty good episode - bit like last week, ho hum through most of it but deadly end. I hate mid-season finales! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,625 ✭✭✭Thor

I really enjoyed the mid season finale. Can't wait for the rest of the season.
Anyone wanna take a guess at who picked up the bible at the end. The Boots make me think it was Cole(Jon Seda). Don't ask me why but i felt he was more then just a passing character.

Possibly but i don't think they would have hid that from us. It would have made more sense showing us him taken the bible and walking away.
My other guess is that its Simon. Maybe he has been apart of this with Vaughn the whole time.

Yeah that was my 2nd guess.
Not sure if Barrett was maybe telling the truth and Vaughn has been playing Michael the whole time.

I'd say Jesse or Vaughn took the briefcase

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭The Don

Good episode and great way to end a mid-season finalle. I thought that it was probably Jesse that took the bible but I'm not sure. As soon as there was going to be a case I knew they'd wrap it up fast so that we could get down to the showdown at the end. I didn't like the fact that all the drug goons went to Michael's place though. A bit sloppy imo.

Vaughn will be at the top of Michael's list of people to pay back for double crossing him. He may play nice thought for a while. I think that Jesse will be satisfied with having shot and only wounded Michael.

    3 month wait :(

    Big Spoiler....
A major character will be killed off during the show’s fall run

    Wanna guess who?

    I'm sorry I read that now :(
There are really only 2 choices, Fiona or Sam. Bruce Campbell is why I started watching the show. I hope its Fiona as that will make Michael go all out for revenge
    .

    I hope its
    Jesse
but he is a major character

He's only been a major character this season so I thought it'd be a bit obvious to kill the new guy. I hope your right. There is a great team dynamic with Michael, Sam and Fiona.

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/news/a277222/dylan-baker-to-guest-on-burn-notice.html
Dylan Baker is to make a guest appearance on the USA Network's Burn Notice.
Deadline reports that the actor will appear in the fourth season finale and could also recur in the following season.
He will play Max, a "brilliant, plugged-in operator" who is an old friend of Michael (Jeffrey Donovan).
Baker recently appeared in episodes of Ugly Betty and The Good Wife and also played Dr. Curt Connors in the second and third Spider-Man films.
The Burn Notice summer finale aired on August 26. The fourth season will resume on November 11.

    I really hope that it's
    Jesse
but I suppose the 2nd best for the show's storyline could be
    Fiona
but unfortunately, the likely option may be that they
    kill of his mother
    - she hasn't been up to much recently and all her episode cameos are pretty much the same.

Burn Notice star Bruce Campbell has revealed more details about the forthcoming prequel movie.

It was previously announced that the television film would focus on the past of Campbell's character Sam Axe.

The actor told IGN: "It's how Sam Axe got to Miami, so it's his last mission as a military guy. We're shooting in Bogota, Colombia in January. It will probably come on before the series comes back on the air."

Campbell added that aspects of the prequel would link directly into the fifth season of Burn Notice.

"You should watch the TV movie to be completely clued in," he suggested. "Otherwise you might be a little lost in season five, that's all I'm saying!"

The fourth season of Burn Notice resumes on November 11 on USA Network.

As the spy drama returns with six new episodes to finish out its fourth season on Thursday night
Michael Weston is still recuperating from the injuries inflicted in the summer cliffhanger. But there's no rest for the burned, and soon enough he finds himself getting uncomfortably close to a paranoid mad bomber. Adding to the complications, the team is still trying to win back the trust of Jesse, forced to work with them to retrieve some critical classified documents.
