Well done, you killed it :pac:

Hang on, I'll revive it for Friday. ;)

    Pick made and PM'd!

A quick question about the knockout stages, if I use one formation against one opponent (and beat him/her), can I pick a different formation to counteract my next opponents team or is there a fixed formation throughout the evaluation stages?

We'll revise the rules before the knockout stages to make sure everyone is happy enough to progress.

Ideally, I'll do up a draw to decide who plays who. I'll then post up a schedule of a day by day match. Hopefully get two done per day. Each person makes one post in the thread with their team and then I'll add a poll.

I was gonna pick Melo but he has had an awful season and is yet to really make a mark on any club he's been at. Far too inconsistent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,418 ✭✭✭curry-muff

That put me off a little bit, but he is a different man in Brazil colours, has really impressed me in the games so far, as I said in the post I think the system at Juventus is holding him back, a move to Arsenal or Inter would prove how good he really is ;)

Diaby AND Felipe Melo go within the last couple of picks.

    Ah well, no biggie! :)

Simao in round 9 is pretty sick value if I do say so myself.

    Team Thus Far:

    X

    Baresi (C)
    Carvalho

    Zanetti
    X

    Mascherano

    Park Ji Sung
    Stankovic
    Simao

    Kaka

    Frei

Fabio Coentrao is the next big thing at left back, good pick titan.

Rumours that Real Madrid are sniffing around his name.

Was sickened when Titan took my pick, but delighted to have snapped up Pedro. Was going for a defender but I couldn't turn down Pedro when I found him.

Nice pick BH, Subotic was one of my big CB targets left.

cheers had him in mind all round and was surprised he made it but def happy especially with his international teamate beside him in defense.

Subotic is a great pick. One of the best header(ers) of the ball at the World Cup.

Here's my team at the moment.

Nice solid team so far, but is leaving your lead striker and keeper to the last two rounds a bit risky

Looking forward to see who you produce ;)

Still havent decided if ill shunt Ivanovic out to the RB position (if maybe i see a better CB than RB available) but considering how late i left it to work on my defense im very happy to have two such good defenders infront of Casillas.

    Iker Casillas

    ???
    Ivanovic
    Subotic
    ???

    Gattuso
    Riquelme

    Camronesi
    Bergkamp
    Henry

    Gonzalo Higuain

Have a keeper in mind alright. As for my striker, I'm just looking for a good finisher. It's a formation that doesn't require much else from my striker - I'll leave the creativity up to Baggio, Robben, Pirlo, Malouda and Affelay :D

Isla was on my shortlist. Definite squeaky bum stuff at this stage.
