    i was wondering if anyone could update me on the status of work on the various relay sites. i am relying on the local clonakilty relay for dtt and it is not up and running yet. was wondering if i will have a long wait in store? it was scheduled for completion for quarter 1 2010, come and gone with nothing.

    The schedule was thrown out the window a while ago. As well as the core sites, these one went to tender to be done in early 2009:

    * Arklow, Co. Wicklow
    * Suir Valley, , Co Kilkenny
    * Forth Mountain, Co. Wexford
    * Gallows Hill, Co. Waterford
    * Drogheda (Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital), Co. Louth
    * Tonabrocky, Co. Galway
    * Tipperary, Co. Tipperary
    * Killarney, Co. Kerry
    * Navan, Co. Meath
    * Skerries, Co Dublin
    * Loughrea, Co. Galway
    * Árainn Mhór, Co. Donegal
    * Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

    I'm not sure they all have been yet, mind - will be checking Arranmore this weekend as I doubt anyone else has!

    However some other ones have come on-stream that aren't on that list such as Crosshaven.

    Clonakilty isn't on the list of sites to be available for the soft launch by Oct according to a written reply from the Minister in the Dáil recently.

    And probably due to the failure to find a commercial partner an RTÉ spokesperson said recently "a revised overall infrastructure plan will be prepared over the coming months". So possibly a slower rollout between now and the end of 2011.

    Checked Arrain Mhór and not live yet, but I do know that there is some work going on there, they are using Satellite as a headend and they are on and off regularly,

    Will Check again later, Do you know what channel they propose to use.

    41 44 45 47 Vertical.

    I will give you odds that the Arranmore transmitter was 'nicked' and installed elsewhere ....read this post and linked list of transmitters which vary quite considerably from the tender only last year.

    Only rtenl can tell you what happened to the transmitter ordered for Arranmore.....I bet they won't unless you get a Donegal TD to ask Ryan where it has gone.

    The Arranmore mast was replaced in the past 12 months Sponge Bob. So I doubt they'd have nicked the DTT kit while replacing the mast!

    Letterkenny's not on yet either. Just as well as I have a bad feeling it's going to interfere with Limavady... Holywell Hill comes in very strong, though!

    The gear only arrived in the summer or autumn but was never installed on Arranmore. I reckon it went to the Knockmore mast in Kerry instead and of course RTE have no money to order any more DTT gear this year.

    Arranmore might get done in late 2011....but I doubt it. Ryan will leave a mess for his successor I fear.
