Meow Meow Vs Shotguns?

So with todays tragic event in the UK will we see another knee jerk legislation to ban all firearms?

After all are Shotguns have now killed more people than Methadrone this year?

    I think not!

The great and the good of the country will rally in the defense of firearm ownership, the economic and social benefits will be highlighted and Charlton Heston will grip it with his cold dead hands, whilst the tragic after affects of this incident will be in the large part be forgotten.

Does anyone else smell a whiff of double standards, or is it just me?

I'm sure many a question will be asked as to how he got the weapon.
I don't think there will be many (if any) legal gun law changes.

As for the drugs issue, thats a whole different issue I know little about and not qualified to comment on.

Well firearms are obviously more dangerous than Meow so there should be an outright total ban forced through as quick as possible

Aye. RyanAir is giving you a free drink.

...its €5.50 for the holding glass though!

I used to be in favour of gun controls.

But this is the result. A madman runs amok and nobody can stop him because nobody else is armed.

Basically gun controls benefited this lunatic.

Are you talking about that drug from head-shops? I got SLATED for starting a thread with that in the title a coupla months back. Really upset some hardcore meow meow users....

How about a shotgun full of mephedrone. You can shoot me in the face with it. I like a good refreshing cathinone bullet in the mush.

What we really need is bullet control :pac:

But without gun control a lot more lunatics would have access to guns

There are loads of madmen running amok. Luckily most of them don't have access to firearms.

    A shotgun.

They won't work without cartridges. I'd also rather see you with an empty shotgun than a car full of petrol.

Not a lot he can do with a car full of petrol either. Sure when he opens the door it will all spill out.

    guns are a mugs game....

clearly nobody ever thought you that the army/police have them for a reason. Nobody else has a justifiable reason for possession of a deadly weapon.

Must be some big fcukin' rabbits in the lake district. Also, seen as you mentioned it, being a taxi driver we can assume that there were no nigerians living in the area.

The gave a run down of the Fire Arms Act on the news last night. I thought it was pretty tight, with various restrictions on who should own a gun, it seems the actual application of the law has failed though. In my opinion there's no point imposing stricter laws if they're not going to be enforced by the police on the ground.

It's not known yet what Derrick Bird's mental state was before the spree yesterday. Maybe he was a normal bloke who flipped, I don't think anyone knows exactly what happened yet, so before yesterday was there any reason why he shouldn't have had a gun?

Like you say, I think kneejerk reactions are just a propaganda wheel to show the public, look we've done something about this and I don't think they serve any greater purpose than that.

Nobody ever called it that, it seems to be a term coined by the media to make the drug sound outlandish and dangerous.

Jeebus folks, I dunno, sounds pretty dangerous to me:eek:
More than 150,000 Kikuyu not directly involved in the rebellion were persecuted by the British.
A major source of atrocities was the 'screening' of Kikuyu and others suspected of Mau Mau sympathies.
A British officer describes his exasperation about uncooperative Meow Meow suspects during an interrogation:
I stuck my revolver right in his grinning mouth and I said something, I don’t remember what, and I pulled the trigger. His brains went all over the side of the police station. The other two Mickeys B]Meow Meow[/B were standing there looking blank. I said to them that if they didn’t tell me where to find the rest of the gang I’d kill them too. They didn’t say a word so I shot them both. One wasn’t dead so I shot him in the ear. When the sub-inspector drove up, I told him that the Mickeys tried to escape. He didn’t believe me but all he said was 'bury them and see the wall is cleared up.'
Some settlers took an active role in the torture of Meow Meow suspects, running their own screening teams and assisting British security forces during interrogation. One settler helping the Kenya Police Reserve's Special Branch described one interrogation which he assisted: "By the time I cut his balls off he had no ears, and his eyeball, the right one, I think, was hanging out of its socket. Too bad, he died before we got much out of him.

I don't have a concrete stance on legal highs, however, I must say firearms can have utility beyond criminal activity: such as hunting for farmers, sport (shooting is in the Olympics), etc. Of course, it can also be used sometimes for good reasons as a weapon against other people (fighting serious crime, etc).

Mephedrone, on the other hand, was created for the sole purpose of recreational drug use (or a plant fertiliser if wish to believe :P ).

    I doubt that..
It's possible that maybe one or two took the opportunity to jump up and down waving their arms about in an attempt to attract the gunmans attention,
    But all 12?
    Nah I doubt it..
Besides in your post you said "people" not "those people"

And should something that was created purely for recreational reasons be made illegal?
