I really like a lot of Idlewild's lyrics. Haven't a clue what they're about most of the time and they can be a bit too try-hard-clever for their own good some times but I just like the way Roddy Woomble phrases things.
Little Discourage wasn't their best but I can still think of much worse - cracking tune too!

+ 1 million. it is without doubt the most embarrassing song ever written. ' i raise up my finger' WTF? seriously my 10 year old could write a less cringeworthy tune and to be honest hes not great either. what a dissappointment of a child

Interpol have to feature heavily in any discussion about worst lyrics in Indie/Alt music. I love their debut album - mostly for the atmosphere and raw sub-punk vibe but the lyrics are at times appalling:

Surprised its taken 3 pages for someone to mention Interpol :P

I'm a huge fan of them and at times they're lyrics can be bizarre definitely. But the only lyrics of theirs that i'd truly consider very bad rather than just strange is from "Hands Away", mainly because I think it ruins such a great melody and song.

For such a strange phrase i'm sure theres some sort of obscure meaning, but it ruins such a otherwise great track.

Suede are my all time favourite band but Brett has been guilty of suffering from "Lazy Arsed Lyricist Syndrome" on occassion. This is from Savoire Faire (From dodgy Headmusic album)

That's just terrible in fairness. The mouse house rhyming couplet is unforgivable and the shaking obscene like a fcuking machine is pure Suede by numbers. Must try harder!
