Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could - some blunders and absurdities have crept in - forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered by your old nonsense.

Bit long for a wall but I love it anyway. Go Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Or you know pretty much all of that poem:p

Bob Dylan is the most incredible person ever.

"A person is a success if they get up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do."

He's so gosh darn profound. Also, check my sig. It's my favourite quote ever I'd say...

Also, Banksy comes out with some serious gems.

"When I was five years old, my Mom told me happiness was the key to life. When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
    I wrote down "happy".
They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."

That was in my sig for a while as well actually...

A really simple line I like from a song (a "something to live by" sort of quote) - What you give to the world is what it keeps of you.

From that novel Eragon (or maybe whatever the second one was called, I don't remeber) - Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall.

And this one, my favourite line from Scrubs -
Dr. Kelso: Are you an idiot?
JD: No, Sir, I'm a dreamer.

Ooh, one more, from the song "You and I" by Ingrid Michaelson:
Well, you might be a bit confused, and you might be a little bit bruised but, baby, how we spoon like no one else.

...yes, they are all from my facebook page

This sounds like an ambitious idea.

I'll provide some Douglas Adams quotes.
"In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry, and is generally considered to have been a bad move."

"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy. " - Probably too big for what you're doing, but there it is should you want it.

"Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which follows its own laws. "

And a couple not by Douglas Adams:
"It is a mathematical fact that fifty percent of all doctors graduate in the bottom half of their class."

"Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar Wilde

There's an abundance of class Salvador Dali quotes. :)

"Each morning when I awake, I experience an exquisite joy - that of being Salvador Dali."

"The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad."

"Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it."

"There are some days when I think I'm going to die from an overdose of satisfaction."

"Since I don't smoke, I decided to grow a mustache - it is better for the health."

EDIT: I realise that none of them are really profound but still. :P

    When I break

I have taken to bookmarking quotes, if it sticks out, I mark it.
    Douglas Coupland(Elanor Rigby) :

Jeremy asked me if I liked my work.

"I think big companies are like marching bands. You know the big secret about marching bands, dont you?"

    "No, what is it?"

"Even if half the band is playing random notes, it still sounds kind of like music. The concealment of failure is built right in to them. It's like the piano, as long as you only play the black keys, not the white ones, it'll sound okay, but on the other hand it'll never sound like real music either"

    "How's your omelette"

People like it when you tell them things, in suitable portions, in a modest, intimate tone, and they think they know you, but they do not, they know about you, for what they are let in on are facts, not feelings, not what your opinion is about anything at all, not how what has happened to you and how all the decisions you have made have turned you into who you are. What they do is they fill in with their own feelings and opinions and assumptions, and they compose a new life which has precious little to do with yours, and that lets you off the hook. No-one can touch you unless you yourself want them to.

It's from the book I'm reading at the moment, Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson.
