Hi, Going to the gym for the first time in over a year today.Started the gym last year and I used to go regularly during the previous summer without building much muscle.

Ill be going back today for thr first time and what wondering whats the best option for building muscle? Ive got excess body fat which I built up over the year and intend to burn it off. Last year i worked a full body program. I can post up my weight&height later today when I get it checked.

Ill be buying some protein also to try and help me out, Anyone recommend what would be best for what I want to achieve?

Hi conroym7, the best option for building muscle is time and dedication without either you will just fail again.

As for buying a tub of protein don't waste your money yet, chances are you could just go missing for another year. If I were you I would be looking at my diet first and getting it sorted out, there is plenty of protein in chicken, canned tuna, steak.

build muscle....no probs..just lift till your arms are hanging off and you hamstrings are pulled within an inch of there lives by deadlifting:D

But seriously...why not sign up in the gym for a free weights induction and state your goals as muscle gain, sjouldnt be much of an issue i imagine?
