This is probably going to sound like a weird question, anyhow.

Is there such a thing as wrist exercises? To strengthen your wrists?

Going back to college in september and looking forward to it but its been a few years since i was last in college. And everytime a pull out a biro, and start writing for 5/10 minutes, my wrist hurt from lack of using it. I don't want that to happen in september. Is there anything i can do about this?

Some exercises I was given when I had wrist pain that would worsen when I'd do tasks like writing:

Tuck your thumb into the palm of your hand and wrap your fingers around it. Then let your wrist drop down towards the follor leading with little finger side. Hold for 10 secs, 5 reps

Elbow straight, bend wrist towards you and push fingers more towards palm with your other hand, hold for 10 secs, 5 reps

Fully extend wrist upwards - hold 30 secs, 5 feps

Also try using "weights" such as a tin of beans.

get a stick slighty bigger than rulershape of a sweeping brush (or cut of end of one) tie a strong string around middle.let string drop down and tie weight to other end of string . then hold out in front of you holding at arms length holding stick at either end, then rotate u wrist so that string goes aroun stick and weight rises up

Most common exercise used for wrist strength in the UL arena.....youtube should have some vids of it

You can buy these yokes in sports shops, kinda looks like a nutcracker, you hold it in hand and squeeze to bring the two handles of it together. only a few quid.

Of course there is. I at least "exercise" my wrists at least once a day.:p

Does it really have to do with weak wrists?I'd say I'd have moderately strong wrists or whatever and with any large amount of typing or writing my hands hurt like a b'tch.I think it has more to do with tight forearms or something..?
