Heel Pain !

As I am not really a huge fan off the gym I have increased the amount of nights that I play astro park football .

I was playing 2 times a week and I now play 4 , I have been doing it for about 2 months now , but over the last few weeks I have been starting to get a terrible pain in my right heel.

You can feel it throughout the day but the pain subsides as the day wears on or it loosens up.

I do my stretches and quick run before ball and if I have time I try to do a few after , I am not having any issues with the calfs, groin ,hamstrings so I presume I am stretching out enough.

Having looked on the net I see that it might be something to do with arch support, (I wear Adidas preditor astro runners when playing ) Is there a better astro boot I could be using or is there an arch support that could be bought to help this problem or even a stretch to help the heel ?

I last played on Thursday night and the heel was very stiff/sore this morning still.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would start with checking if it's plantar fascitiis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantar_fasciitis

If so, you need to spent a lot of time stretching and icing.

It may be that , the back of my heel is very tender/ sore and the pain seems to move up towards the calf , but the calf itself is ok , I may pop myself along to see a Physio incase there is an issue.
