I did the rewatch before season 6. I kind of feel I need a break from the show before I do it again although I will buy the DVD's anyway
I may try some of the fan made ones where they make them in chronological order. I think that could be fun.

for sure. Like i think the last episode was brilliant and anyone curious of the show that watched the last episode will want to start watching from s1.

    For sure. At some stage.

I think it would be best enjoyed from start to finish every few years :)

I bought series one and three in Game Stop second hand recently for €10 each. I saw the second series there too but they had the box set split up and were selling the DVDs individually so I didn't buy them. I'll more than likely get series two, four, five and six if I can see them on sale cheaply.

I'm actually waiting until I do get them all to start watching series one. It might not be as disappointing when watched as a whole and without the anticipation of waiting a week for the next episode only to be frequently let down (in the last three series at least).

It would seem like a bit of a chore watching series six again to be honest, but I couldn't just watch the other five and ignore the last one.

I am hoping someone will do a condensed version. I think the 6th seasons could be culled to about 10 episodes with all the fluff removed.

Keep it to the Whine About Lost thread

I'm thinking i'll pick it up when its released on Blue Ray, and watch it in glorious HD on the new tv that i plan on getting. With every other good program finished for the summer, i need something to watch again.

And with all the montages that i saw over the last few weeks, i'd really looking forward to seeing season 1 again.

August 24th according to Jimmy Kimmel's Aloha to Lost is when the DVD & BluRay Boxsets (as well as Season 6 by itself) will be released. Probably just for America though I hope it's worldwide.

I'll be picking up the BluRay boxset, when I pick it up depends on the price. It's a show I'll never get rid of to be honest, quality through and through. See you in another life, brother.

Have only watched each episode once on tv so its 6 odd years since i seen the season one episodes. Checked out different montages on you tube and amazing the small things ya would have completely forgot about from first couple of seasons.
Like a lot of other posters think i will wait for the blu ray release and immerse myself next autumn!!

Not straight away, but in a year or two maybe. Think my brother has the season one boxset, which I'd be interested in going back to soon though. Especially want to watch the pilot again, just to see if what happened then fits in with what happened later.

Since Janurary, I've been buying the Season 1-5 boxsets and watching them before Season 6 started. So i've done the re watch recently enough. But when Season 6 comes to DVD, I might just watch it all again from Day 1.

So it's the Blu-Ray Complete Boxset for me, I will go with the US version, as I have Multi-region Panasonic Player, I mean I'm very tempted to buy 1 to 5 but there is always the chance they will include some additional extras in the complete boxset that aren't on the individual season discs, hopefully the Boxset specs will become public soon. As I've said before it was the most important TV show of my lifetime and I look forward to re-watching them all again.

I'm not sure what purpose it would serve to buy the DVDs given that I have 'a photographic memory' of all the episodes already.

That's poor form to be honest. A show of this calibre actually deserves your money. It will be my little way to say thank you to the makers of LOST and anybody aspiring to produce something as great as it in the future.

Agree that this show is so good that people should buy legally as a thank you to the producers.

I'm sure people will eventually be able to download legal HD from iTunes. TV shows not yet on iTunes Ireland but sure that will change in the future. Would prefer that as I believe discs are on the way to being a thing of the past.

Buying it Legally and you get the High-Def soundtracks and 1080p pictures, those 720p downloaded episodes were ok but the sound was a bit crap on them, and as others have said I'm buying the boxset to show support to the studio and the producers for giving me a great show over the last six years.

Amazon are listing it on BR for @ $195, I already have the first 5 seasons ripped on 2.3gig files on the HTPC, random episodes when the fancy takes me

Just when I was thinking of buying Season 1 on BR they hit us with this epilogue crap.

I am not sure I will be able to wait until Sept + the UK price needs to be at around £130 for me to splash.

DVD complete set currently at £134 on amazon.co.uk, so I expect the Blu-Ray to be waaaaay more expensive. Mind you, having watched the last couple of seasons in full hd, I'm prepared to sit tight and wait for the Blu-Ray.

Guess who's already put in their Christmas present request to the husband for this year :D

I think the blu ray won't be so much more expensive, blu ray hasn't taken off as much as DVD so they need to cut the prices.

    Yes indeed.

Oh yeah, turns out that bit was a dead end
Turns out this supposedly profound bit didn't mean squat
Turns out this scene was never explained
Turns out that plot thread went nowhere
Turns out this scene is contradicted by a scene 3 seasons later
Turns out this other episode meant nothing

    etc etc etc

Basically get season 5.5 and season 6 boxsets. Everything else basically had nothing to do with the ending

Fair enough. If you are happy watching 20 hours of running through bushes, 20 hours of waves and beaches, 40 hours of pointless looks at each other then I take your point.

Lost is dead to me, never watch it again. It would only piss me off at the dumb ending and the waste of such good possibilities hinted at throughout the seasons.

    Yes, I'm bitter. :pac:

Was not the biggest of the conclusion to the sideway reality, but it would be foolish to suggest that ruins what was 6 seasons of [mostly] great tv.
Will be watching it again, might give it a wait for a few months though, wait till I get a blu ray drive in!

I'd like to watch the first few seasons again but will probably find it really frustrating because it was so good and had so much possibility and it'll really highlight how crappy the last couple of seasons actually were!

Agree with you - wasn't going to get the Season 6 DVD but may just to see that extra when Hurley becomes Jacob but will wait and see the web reaction to it. If its generally positive i'll get it and watch. i've all the other seasons DVDs so not getting it would leave a gap in my collection but as you said it would probably be really frustrating to watch the earlier seasons and realise that a story which was opening up was never pursued and was there just for effect in the particular episode.

Interesting, I think season 2 is easiest the weakest season. I'd regard s3 as far better as while it had prison island sequence and *that* episode the rest of it was top notch imo. S2 had too much filler, I think dragging the hatch over a whole season was a bad idea. I think you could have combined s2+3 by ditching the boring bad parts and it would have been a really tight fantastic season.

Season 4 is still the best for me though.

A lot of people seem to love season 4... It's great but I think it has the weakest finale.

Maybe I'm just looking back and thinking "Wow, that was another great episode in Season 2" i loved the hatch, tailies, Henry Gale, Sayid was on top form, the others and Desmond!.

Although one thing I would have changed would be the opening 2 episodes. It should have been a double episode imo. Just edit it a bit and move a few scenes around. Would have made for a great opener instead of sticking to the same time period in the next episode.

Heh, yeah I think they used the Desmond holding the gun to Locke scene 3 episodes in a row. Season 2 definitely had its moments and it introduced a lot of important mythology and characters but that's what it mainly did introduce it. Too many episodes where nothing much would happen bar 1 interesting scene such as Mr Friendly appearing or Eko facing down the smoke monster. The sequence between the tailies merging with the losties and the long con was the worst run of episodes over the 6 years imo. Although the Long con is a template for how to do filler properly. Great episode.

I have heard quite a few people mentioned they don't rate the s4 finale that highly. I got to say I think it was fantastic and 1 of my favourites. So many really good scenes such as Jack and Locks final conversation on the island, the scenes between Locke and Ben in the Orchid, the freighter exploding, Ben moving the wheel(my favourite version of Bens music) Penny and Desmond re-uniting at last and the Locke reveal (it seems I was the only person in the world who wasn't expecting Locke to be in the coffin)
If you include part 1 which was broadcast separately than I also add in the Oceanic 6 touching down, which is the first use of the Oceanic 6 music which also became the music of the "awakenings" in flash sideways and featured a lot in the final church scene. The return of Richard and the really awesome scene where we saw where everyone is while Ben walks to Keamy.... It's fair to say this episode will feature once or twice in my top 20 list!

I think the problem people had was that the flashforwards meant it didn't have that sense of danger, I can get kind of get it but I think the above scenes more than made up for it. The other being they were comparing it to the flashforward reveal from season before and nothing could top that but *shrug* worked for me.

I'll do a complete re-watch but not for a few months. I think I must have seen Season One at least 3 or 4 times at this stage. I expect I will enjoy the next re-watch just as much, if not more than the first re-watch. So many scenes will resonant even more knowing what we do now.

I am interested to see how my opinion of Season Six fares upon a second viewing as I have a love/hate outlook on it at present.
