High intensity - Empty stomach

    Hi folks,

I haven't been to a gym in a long time now, I've been mostly, jogging and doing some light weights at home.

The only time of the day I can put hours\hard work in is in the mornings. 7am to 9am before work, generally not eating isn't an issue as the speed I jog at keeps the intensity of the mid week sessions fairly low and i'm of the understanding this is ok as i don't go into burning muscle\ protein.

I wanted to join a gym to try and add some toning/shape but I must be in the gym for 7 am which doesn't give me much time for digesting food before hand.

Does anyone have any tips or should I avoid high intensity work outs completely on an empty stomach?

Whenever I go to the gym in the morning I eat a 6 egg omelette made French style. In a nut shell, put the eggs in a very hot pan, use a spatula to constantly scoop each quarter into the middle, and then after about 30 seconds shake the pan like you're **** it for another 30 seconds. So all in all it takes about 60 - 90 seconds to make the omelette.

It comes out really light and airy, and it's easy to eat. It doesn't make you feel bloated or stuffed at all, and obviously it's a great high protein breakfast.

I eat a banana as well.

I start my workout about 15 minutes later and I don't at all feel like I've just had a meal.

Previous to this I experimented with porridge before the gym but I found it too heavy.

You can do quite a lot on an empty stomach. Sure, you won't be optimal in terms of strength/speed, but you'll still reap a large part of the rewards exercising at a high intensity on an empty stomach.

Just make sure you get the food into you afterwards.

I usually have my breakfast at 5 45 am which usually consist of chicken breast,4 egg omelette, plenty of spinach with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.Gym at 7am ,finished by 8 10 am.I don't feel bloated at all but having said I would never jog on full stomach and never would have any carbs before I go to bed.
Usually a small tub of cottage cheese does the trick for me
    Thats my 2 cents:o
