Just looking through previous results and what not,I was wondering what happened some horses do people know, injured or whatever.

Footstepsinthesand Now a decent stallion, was retired after the 2000 guineas when unbeaten, what injury had he and how did he get it?

Arazan Would be a 4 year old now,was trained by John Oxx,had a really bright future ahead of him. Hasn't been seen since Sept 2008,anyone know why?

Don't worry about it. If I wasn't interested myself I wouldn't have posted. Appreciate the attention being drawn to forgotten horses - ya lazy plank

Jesus, that'll be two years next month I think since Arazan ran, pity he missed his 3 year old season,he really could have been something good. You plank.

Anyone remember a horse of Paul Webber's called Tidour?

Was still travelling well in Well Chief's Arkle when falling 2 out (I think) and then dotted up in a handicap chase at Aintree. Assuming he picked up some kind of injury but not sure. Was a horse I had huge hopes for

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

I assume he either came out of the race bad or had an accident at home. Shame, his chase record was very impressive.

Not a horse but a jockey.

Where is Christophe Soumillion riding these days since being let go by the Aga Khan?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,173 ✭✭✭hucklebuck

Looking forward to seeing Arazan again :D

Anyone hear anything on Neptune Collonges, hasn't been seen or heard of since 09 Gold Cup?

He's retained by another of the big French trainers. Can't remember which one, maybe Fabre? I don't know much about French racing

Rouget apparently. It was comments about Fabre that got him the sack.

    Injury-plagued Arazan declared for Solonaway

JOHN OXX has declared Arazan, who was a leading hope for the 2009 Stanjames.com 2,000 Guineas won by his stablemate Sea The Stars, for Sunday's O'Brien's Wines Supporting Jack & Jill Solonaway Stakes at the Curragh.

Arazan had been as short as 10-1 - only marginally bigger than his successful stablemate - to land the first English Classic of the season after an impressive victory in the previous year's Group 2 Galileo EBF Futurity Stakes.

However, fast ground ruled him out of Newmarket before he then suffered a bad chest infection, which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Arazan, who also missed the 2008 Darley DewhurstStakes due to a bruised foot, has now not been seen in public since finishing third to Mastercraftsman in the Bank Of Scotland National Stakes of September 2008, but was on Friday among the ten confirmed for the Solonaway Stakes.

The Group 3 also features the Aidan O'Brien-trained Steinbeck, British raider Zafisio and a third try in this company for Totesport Victoria Cup star Dandy Boy.

Ten also line up for the Thetote.com Blandford Stakes a race later. Sir Michael Stoute is represented by Eleanora Duse, while Henry Cecil fields supplemented Aviate and Lush Lashes has her second run since returning from retirement.

    What comments did he make?

    Another where are they now.

Red Rock Canyon. On the ATR website his trainer is listed as Mike De Kock. Is he still in training?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Red Rock Canyon just ran for De Kock over in Meydan during the World Cup festival I think. That's happened a few times where O'Brien's horses have gone to him,Eagle Mountain being another. Think he will probably be around come January or February in the middle east.

Anyone know of a Philips Hobbs novice hurdler called Dare Me. Suffered an injury that ruled him out of Cheltenham last year, but was wondering if he'd be back racing this year

    Found this;)

Dare Me 7g Bob Back - Gaye Chatelaine Trevor Hemmings 1/162/11-RPR 130h OR 140h Had problems with a hind leg that have kept him off the track for almost a year, and given his lack of experience he'll find things difficult this season off a mark of 140. You won't see him before Christmas, and he'll probably start off in a handicap hurdle before we think about novice chasing. Soft ground will be fine and he'll begin at 2m, although I imagine he'll stay further.

Does anyone have any idea what happened to a horse called gstaad? Was trained by Aidan O'Brian and won a 2yo maiden a few years ago at the Curragh. Never heard anything else about it.

He ran in John Magniers colours in America for D.Wayne Lukas I could only find one run that was at Churchill Downs in May 2007 when he finished down the field after trying to force the pace. He won on his 2nd start for O'Brien in a Curragh maiden on 16th Sept 2006.

Ran another 5 races in America but was never placed in any of them can't seem to dig out anymore info but with him not being registered with any owner at the moment i can only assume he is now deceased

I know this thread seems to be about horses who've gone off the radar but I would like to incorporate horses who've dropped drastically in class too.

I sometimes wonder how horses like Elna Bright, Tourist and Autumn Blades can drop 35 lbs in a year or two of racing.

Elna bright was rated 95 at her peak, And is rated 95 now so I'm not sure why you included him. Tourist is an average horse who received an over inflated mark for a few good runs around dec 09 jan 10, Other than that was nothing special.

Autumn blades has dropped 15lbs, I suppose the horse has lost enthusiasm or maybe some of it's ability. I'm sure someone else on here would be more helpful with that one.

He is entered in the Betfair Hurdle too, as is Flat Out. Good seeing quality coming back to the track after a long while off.

Rigour Back Bob wasn't entered in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham. Any one know why or have any news about the horse. I'm starting to worry that he might have kicked the bucket as of the other thread. Is he injured, dead or are there other plans for him?

Where did you heat that? Can't find anything on the net about it. Was it fatal or career threatening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Bury Down The Hatchet

Someone told me after he ran there. All I know is that he broke down, not sure how bad it was but I imagine he's out for this season anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 713 ✭✭✭newuser89

They were talking about mossey joe for the Rsa and then they found out he's only a novice in Ireland and not England.hes not just a summer horse he should be goin to the festival .might just like better ground than is out there.now

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

How does he still have novice status in Ireland when he won a novice chase in April 2010?

And that's a ridiculous target I think. I don't see him ever making the money in a grade 1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 713 ✭✭✭newuser89

Did not Johner but she looked a good one.

Just see that Dare Me is entered in the last at Cheltenham tomorrow. Might have a bet on him,see how the mula is

Runs tomorrow at Cheltenham 4.15 best priced around 6/1. Doing exactly what Hobbs said he would do and running him in a H/C Hurdle before going chasing. I'll be keeping a close on this one just like you Urban:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 176 ✭✭MassDeb8r

I was just thinking about Tarla the other day, I thought she showed real potential and thought she may be another Quevega.

I know she was injured and set to miss all last season, I also read on the Betfair forum that she had died (but that could be speculation so don't take it as gospel and I hope it's not true)

What I do knonw for definite is that Tarla was bought by Rich Ricci at high cost and is by Lavrico the same sire of Mikael D’Haguenet. She had 8 starts in France in 2009 all at Auteuil winning 3 times and culminating in a close second in the Grade 2 Prix Bournosienne before her Punchestown win over 2m 2f. She really caught my eye that day, if she's gone to be a brood mare fair play but she's only 6 now and has lots of racing left, hopefully we will see her out again anyhow.
