Match on this evening, mi think Mexico are good value at 6/1 to have a small bet on, anyone got any opinions on this clash?

Mexico are are well drilled side but I can't see them beating England, Milner, Huddlestone and a few younger lads will be really trying to impress so I can see England taking this tbh.

Then again you did win €100 on a corner so I'll leave it up to you :)

England will win this easily IMO. Considering a nice lump on the handicap.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

does anyone know the actual starting team.

Might go for the Handicap draw. I'm seeing the popular bets on PP site and it's all England 3-0, 4-1, etc but i just think it's gonna be closer. Great for those if they can cover the -1 handicap and good luck. But it's just not a bet i feel too confident about. Friendlies can be so unpredictable.

Surely Mexico will want to impress too  I won't be backing anything until I see the line-ups but if Mexico have a decent team out, I think they'll be the value.

Can you place a bet on player to get injured by going over on his ankle?

just heard on news(if you count tv3 as news) that englnd might be going with a 5-3-2 formation (more like 5 3 1 1)

doesn't bode well for my -1 handicap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,227 ✭✭✭awhir

id go for a 0-0 draw or 1-1 draw

Yeah i heard that he might play Rooney as a lone striker for a while. Can only see him getting 30 minutes or a half at most.

If Vela starts, he looks a juicy price to get on the scoresheet @ over 5/1 on the exchanges.

Gonna go for Crouch to score anytime @ 6/4.

He has an amazing record for Engerland.

He will surely be subbed so just a €10 stake on this for me.

  • Moderators Posts: 8,754 ✭✭✭x PyRo

Theo Walcott first scorer @ 14/1 and Anytime @ 5/1. Both on Betfair.

    13/2 & 2/1 with the bookies.

    Nope! ;)

I've layed Rooney to score @ 5/4 and backed Mexico +1 @ evens.
I think this will be a very tight game, 0-0 was appealing too. Rooney looks a great lay as hopefully he'll only get 45 minutes.

    Edit, I've thrown 2 euro on 0-0 @ 13/1 as well.

    Best of luck guys.

You not think he is hugely overrated? I think he's hit and miss. The english media hype him up to the last.

He'll probably bag a hatrick now after me saying that :o

Just done Eng HT/FT doubled with Arg HT/FT.Dont think Mexico's starting XI is that great so if England can get a goal in the first half they'll use their subs wisely I think to close the game off

    50 quid on rooney 1st goal @ 16/5

    How dare you. :pac:

Of course he is, I like his attitude and personality. He's a poor winger though, Wait until Wenger unleashes him upfront in a couple of years. ;)

25 goals from 58 caps, isn't it? So 5/4 is too short. And he's not gonna play the whole game presumably so fingers crossed!

Mexico are unlucky to find themselves 2 goals down. A stupid corner given when a back pass was the easier option and a hand ball for a goal. Mexico really need to start practising how to finish though. Straight at the keeper in one on ones won't cut it at the world cup.

Deservedly so! Must say I'm sick of the commentators, far too blinkered! Mexico the better side at the moment imo...

Hopefully Rooney is taken off at HT!!

to say the least mexico well deserved the goal,
englands defence is poor enough, mexico should have 2 at least.
have no money on the game but would like to see mexico get another.

dam dam dam i put 25 euro on mexico at 13/1 just now i thought the game was starting at 9.000 as it says on livescore thats what i get for pissed drunk

Possibly a knee jerk reaction but I couldn't help but have a lay on South Africa V Mexico in the WC opener.
    South Africa - 2/1
    Draw - 12/5
    Mexico - 7/4

Finding these friendlies very hard to judge so I've laid under 4.5 as the one thing I feel quite confident in is that there will be more goals.
