Alcohol and Diet

I am on a diet at the moment and trying to eat as healthy as I possibly can.

I have a party to go to next week and unsure what to drink at it. Before the diet I would just drink bottles or pints of beer but I don't want to next week as I know the calories they contain. I also don't want to drink water all night as I don't think it would be an enjoyable evening.

Can anyone advise what alcohol would have the least affect with adding on those extra calories?

Id imagine something like vodka with a zero cal mixer, Coke Zero.

I heard at weightwatchers that martini (the bottled brand rather than the coctail) is half a ww point per glass, so that would make it very low, if they had it available. Westcoast cooler is also another low calorie drink.

Be careful of that, I have seen many WW points which were for UK measures, e.g. a UK shot is 25ml, a Irish one is 35.5ml also a baileys in Ireland is 50ml, I think martinis are larger also.

Like many "low point" items they are really just small portions. Just like you see curly wurlies, snack crisps, malteasers etc listed in the WW threads. They are the same points per 100g as other bars/crisps etc.

A westcoast cooler is only 4%

    http://www.westcoastcooler.ie/blog/about-west-coast-cooler/
    Calories per 250ml: 151k/cal

While bulmers light is 4.5% and
    28kcal per 100ML

so 70kcal per 250ml, so westcoast cooler has over twice the points/calories of bulmers light and is actually even worse that that when you take into account it has less alcohol.

I made a long post about alcohol here

in short spirits with diet mixers are the best bet, but very expensive.

Yep, martinis are a double measure, so 76ml.
