OK, this is going to sound weird, but

I actually love Pennys. Some of the clothes in there are great! I was looking around there today at the clothes, thinking "That looks great" etc. and some of the prices are very cheap. I'm not exactly starved for cash but I love being able to buy clothes cheaply.

Today I bought a really nice shirt for €11 and excellent jeans for €17. They look great! They mightn't last as long as designer ones, but for the price you definitely can't go wrong. If you accidentally dirty them or ruin them, it's not big deal because it's not like you paid €80 for them.

    Anybody else like Pennys?

    I don't like Penney's........................I LOVE IT!!!

All time favourite shop...............affordable and fashionable gear, especially if you're on a tight budget like me.

I'm guessing about 80% of my stuff is from there.

    Penney's forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The nearest thing we have to Penney's in the UK is Primark. Actually Penneys and Primark might be in the same group of companies. But anyway, Primark is where I get my trousers and underwear from. I've got enough to have clean underwear everyday for a month.

    Love Penneys!!!!
Especially now, with things being so tight, the small amount i allow myself to spend on clothes or bits and bobs goes sooooo far, i can still buy loads!!! Got two big bags of stuff the other day for about 40 quid!

As a stocking filler last christmas I got my sisters "gift cards" for Pennys they loved them and played a game to see who could get the most on the cards :p

Oh, I love it too! Its like my second home! And I love the way you can fill a basket up with bits and pieces, and you get to the till and its only like €50 or €60, and you have so much stuff for it!

I love Penney's. Anow now that I love in the UK, I love Primark.

I bough some gray plimsolls there last summer for £2.50 but I didn't wear them much. Stuck them on ebay last week (clearly stating where I bought them from) and managed the sell them for £11!

What I love about Penny's: When your going out, and you realise you have NOTHING to wear, you can't buy something expensive, it'll just eat into beer money! No sense in that. Penny's steps in and you can go out looking great and have money to boot :) I love penny's too.

I love Penneys too! I have to walk through one to get to work....so every day I'm in work I end up buying something!!! I really have to stop lol

I think Penney's have some lovely stuff, but I tried to get in the shop on Mary Steet (Dublin) yesterday and I only got about 5 paces in when I was forced outside by the sheer crowds in there! My mistake for shopping on a bank holiday weekend, I suppose...

I spent about e400 in Penney's when I was home for a visit last month.

Every time I get a compliment now at work about what I'm wearing it is when I'm wearing something from Penney's. I tell them all it's from Pennays, a very expensive boutique :)

Err, excuse me, but in the UK it is called Pri-Mani.

You'll hear people asked where they got their lovely designer jeans and the correct response is "Ohn they're Pri-Mani"

Persinally I wear a lot of Pri-Mani and quite a lot from Dunnesa Boutique!!

Yes, Penneys and Primark are the same company. I discovered that for myself when I dropped into the Letterkenny branch of Penneys when I was on holiday.

I so admire people who can go into Pennys and just get one thing. I've never been able to manage it. :o

    I LOVE Pennys!

Not sure when or how it happened but they have deadly tops in there. Had a load of tops mentioning New York or NYC on them and they were all funky so stocked up before I went to NY :D

Plus the lads t-shirts are funky. In fairness I'm addicted to shopping there. Seriously have to avoid the place when I go home. I've soo many tops now it's not funny >.<

Plus the underwear is quite on the ole sexy side of things too :pac:
    And the PJs rock!!:D:cool:

Socks, pj's, tops, cardis, dresses, trousers :D Well impressed :D

    I <3 Pennys :D

I only had €20 at the time. :D

Was in there the other day and I bought a few hats and a really nice t-shirt, all for €14.

It's pretty much my one stop shop for clothes now.

where else would you get really nice heels for under 20 quid!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,568 ✭✭✭candy-gal1

Its possibly the only place you can get a whole new outfit for 50e or a whole new seasonal wardrobe for 100e! :D

Penney's has really great shoes at the moment :)

They have exact replicas of stuff other more expensive HS brands have, but at a much more accessible price!

The boots in particular are nice. All less than 25 euro!

It's great for bargains, that place!

I forgot I started this! Got a load of great stuff there in Penny's last week - love that shop!

Only one small problem is they tend to have less of the common sizes (probably as people buy more of them) - I was looking at a jacket I really liked, but all they had was XS, S, XL and XXL - no M or L left, which I'd imagine are the most common sizes.

Aside from that, great store! I got my debs tie in there for a euro and it was every bit as good as the more expensive ties (about €20) from the suit shops. Ironically, after searching about 10 suit shops in my local town, only Penny's and River Island had the one in the right colour - exact same tie, €17 in RI, €1 in Penny's.

Ya its great, I love shopping in Pennys and being able to buy trendy and top fashion without having to spend a fortune!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,528 ✭✭✭jubella

I would live in Penneys if I could :D
I'd say at least 80% of my wardrobe is from Penneys. And there's never been a time where I've had to choose between two nice things because of price - I can just get both. YAY

I wouldn't go as far as to say I love Pennys but I do grab the 'ol socks and jocks there and the odd shirt or whatever. I do like Pennys on O ' Connell street though in the summer when throngs of hot women frequent the place ;). Where do these women socialise?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

i love pennys. It is rapidly turning into where i do all my shopping. I love their skirts, dresses and cardigans. And im a size 8 shoe, and their shoes fit me... Got a pair of knee high brown boots for 24 euro. The kids clothes are excellent. My wardrobe is getting more and more pennys clothes in it the whole time.

Yes Penneys and Primark are the same because it says it on the bag! LOL!

Penneys on Mary St is my favourite shop in the whole of Dublin!
Every xmas I treat myself and end up buying almost 100euro's worth of stuff or else the odd time I get to go in, I have a little peep and come out with a load of stuff for atleast 30euro. I love the way they now sell cosmetics and toiletries, great deals and so much cheaper than supermarkets.

If I had a 500euro voucher and had to choose between River Island and Penneys to spend it...Penney's all the way!!!:P

Great place. I've often been asked with compliments where did I get my shirt and jeans from when on a night out, all Penneys I say! And cheap too!

I've also been asked where did I get my great retro t-shirts from, you know the cartoon ones for about 7 quid and from the recent football world cup, Penneys I say! And no, I did not fork about 30quid in a rip-off store for the same logo on a tshirt, Penneys rules! :)

Pennys got a huge make over in my town I nearly got lost when I went in :D Must pick up some stuff when I'm in next.

Was my school the only one where pennys socks were a traditional christmas gift when you were in 1st/2nd year??

I love pennys as much today as I did back then! best shoes I've ever worn have been pennys, and I love the new fluffy wedge ankle boots they got in- it's like have squirrels hug your feet!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 196 ✭✭eimear1

Oh Penneys has been a lifesaver lately, losing weight and everything i own getting too big for me (yippee!) but little funds to splash out on new stuff (and plan on losing more so should only need them for a wee while!) Don't feel half so guilty about having to give stuff away when it was so cheap!!! Got fab coat today for 25 euro!!
